This is our first time visiting Margaritaville and we love it. I am actually still at the resort for a few more days. I was a little nervous after booking my trip and then reading some of the reviews. But this place is wonderful. We have a cottage and it is beautiful. I know many people complained about the cottages and I have to admit there are a very few minor things in the house that aren’t perfect but it’s not a problem at all. Just know if you are in a cottage there is no daily maid service. You have a call a number if you want new towels or garbage taken, haven’t had to do it yet but doesn’t seem like a big deal. My only complaint is that when I reserved a 2 bedroom cottage I specifically asked if the second bedroom would have 2 beds in it and they said yes. The cottage we got has a king bed in the second bedroom not 2 beds. My boys were disappointed seeing they are both teenagers but we didn’t want to have to call and the wait for another cottage so they made it work. But I am disappointed that what I asked ( and that’s what I requested when I made the reservation months before) was not done. The pools are great! And they aren’t freezing which is nice. They even had a guy playing pool games with guest and a foam party in the pool Friday night which was awesome and my kids loved it. Only bad thing about the pool area is that the bars close so early. The pool is open till 10pm and the bars are closed by 7-8pm and a party is going on at the pool. Doesn’t make sense and was super inconvenient. Seeing you can not bring your own drinks in the area. The surrounding area is great. The Sunset walk and waterpark are walking distance away and it has so many choices of things to do. All in all it is a great experience. We would love to come back. Just wish I was given the requested cottage I booked but like I said it wouldn’t stop us from coming back.

We stayed for 5 nights in June in a 3 bedroom villa. The villas are nice enough, living/ dining area was a bit poky and you can't walk around the table while people are sitting down. The resort is relatively close to the Disney parks but really far from Universal. The Florida traffic was brutal all day, every day. The villas are really far away from the main building. We are a young, fit family but it was way too hot in the Florida heat to walk. We walked back from there one day, about 15 minutes walking, and all of us nearly had heatstroke. You must call the reception and ask for the courtesy bus if you don't have a car. The worst part of the stay was when the fire alarm in our bedroom starting chirping one night at around 11.30pm. It took four phone calls and three visits from an employee (who wasn't actually the maintenance man) to get it to stop by 4am. We didn't sleep at all that night. And the worst part is we had no response from management the next day. No apology, no offer to make it up to us - nothing. On check out, when I was ready to give my feedback on the woeful customer service, I was told by a young man at reception "if you're checking out, just leave your wristbands in that basket and you can go". It was only after completing the post-stay survey that I received a belated email from management saying "I apologize for the fire alarm issues". That's it. Incredibly underwhelmed and wouldn't stay here again.

"Pick somewhere else for your staycation."

We planned a group staycation w some friends. My first flag was the booking process. I have never booked with whites that doesn't give you a detailed confirmation if you booking. I thought I had booked a certain room but they say I did not. Which is fine. But I would have liked to have been able to fix that sooner. Their website doesn't give much information and most of what I found out about the hotel, I got from Reddit. The other issues is that most of the staff doesn't speak English. (But very nice). We realized that the couch in our room is missing its cover. It's just foam. We contacted the front desk and were told that we had to wait in the long line again to find out a solution. We are staying in the hospitality suite. The closet is very small and doesn't have a space for long hangs. The bathroom counter is too small for toiletries and there is no alternative storage space in the bathroom. The front entrance is fun and has a great vibe but the base boards is dirty and very much in need of a magic eraser.

"Amazing cottage stay"
TripAdvisor user rating 5.0 out of 5

Amazing cottage stay! Rented an 8 bedroom cottage for our family of 16. It was huge! Amazing for our family with its own private pool/hot tub. However although we would not want the pool heated the hot tub was NOT heated which was a little disappointing . You would figure at least that would be heated buttt. Pool was a good temp for the entire week and never extremely hot from the sun. Pool was a little dirty when we arrived, but honestly what pool isn’t these days? House was beautiful and huge. Plenty of space for our family of 16 which I thought was going to be a tight squeeze but not at all! The cottages were are our go to when we go to Orlando. We are also avid MTB riders in the winter and it’s the perfect happy medium for Orlando/mt Dora/Vortex locations with plenty of space for the bikes. Full kitchen and we never ran out of ice! Which ever family stays after us you have a 16lb bag of free ice I bought haha. Rented through AirBNB with Margarittaville which I would 100 percent do again brocade you can pick your cottage. The free H20 live waterpark access came in clutch for the young ones. Wave pool is small and so/so but the lazy river is NICE! Deff still a go-to for the fam! This is our 3rd stay in a cottage. But we have never rented from the actual website only through AirBnb/Vstays which I highly recommend!
