My Wife and I stayed at Westin Carlsbad Resort and Spa for an anniversary celebration. What a beautiful location - hilltop views. We booked it for a getaway and massage. We were pleasantly surprised at check-in; where we were upgraded to a view room from a friendly and professional front desk (AJ was great!). On site dining was a pleasant atmosphere with good quality dishes that were not overly "resort" priced. Pool and spa are open into the evening. Nice to enjoy a hot tub and swim after dinner. We were surprised by a few operational shortcomings that one would not expect from a resort of this caliber. None of them dealbreakers - but unfortunately not unnoticeable. I mention them as constructive criticisms for the property to succeed and make other visitors stay a speed-bump free experience. Here are some recollections of operations/maintenance oversights: • The designer TP holder was broken-not unusable but awkward • Shower drain tiles needed some love • Shower glass had water spots • Elevators had tape marks from removed notices • Outdoor dining table could have been dusted and wiped better • Glass dividing in/outside had noticeable waterspots • Pool / Spa area unattended and littered with used towels and neglect

I brought my wife on our 30 years anniversary and she loved the resort. It was very clean and food in the restaurant was great. They treated us to a dessert that we enjoyed. The only thing we wasn’t super happy about was the $35 daily resort fee plus $38 self parking fee, it mounted up to $73 per day in just extras.

We traveled here on February 19-23. First time going to this property and overall the grounds are taken care of very well. The location and area is fantastic. The portion of the hotel we stayed in was very dated and needed minor repairs such as toilet paper holder, door handles, toilet seat, etc. We had an executive suite and the room was a good size. Unfortunately, you can hear everything above you, beside you and even below you. There is a newer building that was built in 2018 and if we come back, I would request to stay at that facility. The staff was great and the restaurant 2020 had excellent breakfast every morning, and we ate dinner there one night. Tasty Wagyu burger! The workout facility was good and we also did one day at the spa, very good treatments. We will come back, but hope that they update the rooms and do something about the soundproofing.

We stayed in Carlsbad, Ca for a few nights in February. We enjoyed dinner at 20Twenty the first night- my son couldn’t stop talking about the lamb lollipops. The service was top notch as was the food. Check in was a breeze. Our room was the absolute best! Our balcony faced the large lawn. It was perfect for the kids to mingle with other kids in town for a soccer tournament. As parents, we enjoyed catching up with other adults, sitting at a fire pit while the kids played in the pool. The room service was prompt and accurate. We slept so well. We want to come back as soon as we can.
