Hotel Amarano Hollywood – Burbank in Burbank, CA

Booked a one-night stay in Black Friday deal for 11 months ahead, and the pricing was good. Contacted the hotel prior to arrival that we were due about 11pm after our flight and asking what food options would be available. We were told we'd have to use a takeaway app as their kitchen would be closed - fair enough. Our flight got in early so we arrived at 10:30, and reception suggested we speak to the bartender about possible food options as the kitchen was closing soon. The bartender was extremely helpful and said they could accommodate us if we ordered in the next 10m which was easy. We ordered three dishes and were offered the choice of staying in the bar or having it delivered to our room so we could get sorted. We chose to dine in our room; they did not mention there was a $7 charge for this. The room was booked for four but when we reached it the sofa bed had not been made up and there were no sheets or pillows for us to do this ourselves so we had to call housekeeping, who came swiftly and helped us. The food service was also quick and very tasty. The room itself was clean, and had some modern elements such as USB-c charging on the bedside table, but other parts felt dated and tired; the bathroom ceiling was peeling and the towels were quite thin and ragged in places. We could hear traffic noise but it didn't really disturb us. Continental breakfast was included; this was a choice of pastry, fruit, yoghurt and granola. Tea and coffee and water available. We ordered two croissants; one was very dry and left uneaten, the other quite oily. Fruit and yoghurt were fine, as was the coffee. Late checkout was available FoC until 12:30, but we couldn't be back for that time so they kindly stored our cases for us. Bell services when we arrived were very helpful and swiftly helped with our cases on departure, and offered to help us with a car if needed. The hotel is in a great location for visiting WB Studio Tour. It was clean and comfortable. If staying for longer or returning I would look to see what other options were available; I wouldn't rule out staying again.

Really disappointed with our stay at the Amarano. After travelling from the UK and taking our children to experience America for the first time, this was our first stop on our tour. When we arrived we were told that the superior double room we had booked months ago was sold out and they put myself, my partner and two teenage children (one who is nearly 6 foot) in a room with one double bed. They brought in one single camp bed and told us it was tough luck and we would 'have to work it out'. After complaining they agreed to credit our amenities fee. When leaving the hotel, I noticed on the invoice they had not credited our amenities fee, so I asked them to sort it. We were given an invoice showing the credit but we have never physically received the credit back. I believe that the employee on the front desk fraudulently wrote out the credit on our invoice but never intended to refund. We have e-mailed, sent facebook and Linked in messages asking for the refund but we are being ignored and are now taking it up with our credit card company. Do not trust this hotel. Luckily the rest of our trip was fantastic and restored our faith in American Customer Service.

My husband has enjoyed this hotel numerous times while in the area for work. So it was a natural choice when we had an event to attend. The hotel is very nice, attractive ambiance and lovely rooms. It is quite clean, serves a great breakfast and is centrally located to the major studios and attractions in the Los Angeles area. The one aspect that sets it apart is the staff. They are all so friendly, courteous and helpful, from the minute you get out of your car on arrival until the moment you depart.

I booked this hotel because it’s close to the Warner Brothers Studio. The room was nice and clean. The staff were friendly, especially the doorman, who was always welcoming and helpful. However, I was given a room with a connecting door, and unfortunately, there seems to be no soundproofing at all. Even though both sides of the door were closed, I could clearly hear the people in the next room talking and the kids screaming. I asked the front desk if I could be moved to a different room, but they told me the hotel was fully booked. If you decide to stay here, I recommend avoiding Room 324 or any room with a connecting door.

This place is incredible. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The front door man, Hans was extremely helpful, giving us some tips on various things, and always a friendly person to see when we came back to the hotel. We enjoyed the breakfasts, a lunch and some cocktails in the bar and restaurant. We loved reading by the pool. The location is close to Universal Studios, also Warner Bros Tour, and other attractions. There's a grocery store across the street, so we could pick up some items we forgot. We borrowed our daughter's car a couple of days, and we found free parking on the street. The hotel is in a neighborhood, so walking around felt safe. We highly recommend this hotel. It is now our favorite in LA.
