Hana and Beyond Tour in Lahaina, HI

Loved seeing the road to Hana from a small group van. Lots of amazing stops. It was nice not having to drive it. I wasn’t as thrilled with the driver Georg. He was a little too focused on talking about himself and also how ignorant people can be (including his tourists!). He asked if we knew of the city of Vancouver and then dissed us for not knowing who Vancouver was. Really? Banana bread stop was over rated, but I do like to support the locals, so we did get a loaf. Georg said how absolutely delicious the bread was! It was just okay. Noticed that Georg got a free coffee and snack for bringing us there. Hmm! And lastly, Georg, raved about a fruit stand where you pick your fruit and pay what you want. No set prices. ‘Great coconuts’, he said. When we drove by, there was lots of fruit out and cars in the parking lot. Georg said that his friend wasn’t working at the stand, so he drove right by. Didn’t even ask us if we wanted to stop. Makes me wonder if Georg has a ‘cut’ in the sales, so that’s why it wasn’t worth his while to stop.

Had apprehensions due to my motion sickness but everything went great! Let the company know of my concerns upfront and they gave us a driver who really took his time around the curves. Stopped for cliff jumping which was a highlight for the 10, 12, and 14 year old. Then got to watch sea turtles beach up for the night on our way back.
