"Roach infested and disgusting"

Upon check-in the room was not ready. No problem, we were a little early. We gave our luggage to a very put-out bellman. We went to their restaurant. Only two tables were filled. We waited 20 minutes and no hostess. Walked over to the bar and the bartender went to find the hostess. Service was slow, food expensive, and not that great. We got a call that our room was ready. We walked to it and the hallway and entry to the room was very dingy and dirty looking. The room smelled pretty bad. Like old moldy carpet. The windows were rusted and dirty looking. We had to hurry because we had reservation. We came back and went to bed. There weren't many pillows. 2 standard size only on a king size bed that sounded like an aluminum can when you sat on it. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. The air conditioner was not cold. We showered the next morning and the bathroom was very old and dated. Old fluorescent lights and dingy basement like ceilings. The bathroom counter had what looked like rodent or bug droppings. Patio door did not seal shut. We had to hurry for an excursion so we left. Got back in the evening and the kitchen was full of cockroaches. Every where. Under the coffee maker, around the stove, counters, etc. At this point we were afraid to stay. We went to the desk to check out and find a new hotel. The receptionist said that it wasn't their fault there were pests. That it was the last person to stay in the room that declined the bug treatment. I find that hard to believe. This hotel does no regular housekeeping. No garbage removal, no clean towels, no vacuuming or floor washing. No bathroom cleaning. Disgusting. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I've read since we left that each unit is individually owned and an HOA runs the property. It is not a hotel. It should be removed from hotel rental websites and advertised more truthfully. You don't know what you are getting when you stay here. The beach is all rock as well. Stay away. Go elsewhere. I would recommend the Westin nearby.

Our room was at the far end of the hotel, overlooking the Banyan tree, and the car park. Room was a bit tired (curtains not on rail properly), and we couldn't get the aircon to get cold enough. Restaurant and Cafe - so so. Live music was too loud - ear bleeding loud.
