Checked into hotel on Sunday did not know the hotel hosts beach parties every Sunday. The music was super loud with bad techno music the DJ was terrible. There was no place to be to escape the noise. Also across the bay there was another venue with loud music and traffic noise. The music finally stopped and then we had the hotel guest screeching noise and laugher. I had be up at 5am. They should have a disclaimer about loud a$$ party of Sundays. Finally the Shriners headquarters lawn that is next to the hotel was littered with godfrey hotel club bracelets, cocktail cups, Hennessy bottles respect to the Shiners property.. NEVER AGAIN.

Upon arrival at noon we were told to come back in about an hour because our room wasn’t ready. Understood. When we came back to check on our room, we were told that our room was ready but that we would be charged a $35 early check in fee to check in before 2. It was 1:30! When I asked if it was possible to waive the fee due to the fact that it was 30 min early and our room was ready, I was told no. So we sat in the lobby with our luggage and had to wait the 30 min. Later in when we visited the restaurant bartender, he seemed like we were a bother to him and we were the only ones at the bar! He was not friendly at all. The next morning, we visited the coffee shop where this employee was also not in a good mood at all. We were taken back by how unfriendly the staff has been this far! We then visited the pool there were absolutely zero towels. When we visited the front desk to request some, we were told that housekeeping would bring towels down shortly. We waited about 10-15 min and gave up. We also received a promotional deal via email that showed a rate of $79 per night for dates that included ours. We paid over $200 a night. We were told that we would need to cancel our reservation and get charged cancellation fees in order to get the deal....

"Crappy hotel"

I wouldn't stay at this hotel again if someone paid me because of the following: 1) The cost is too high for the lack of amenities. 2) The Bay view on the website isn't equal for all rooms. Initially, I was in a room where I could see the Bay, but the view was actually of the pool (this is an extra fee by the way). 3) The TV didn't work, like was non-working. 4) On Saturdays and Sundays, the connecting WTR grill and club has an ongoing party; they play house music all day long; the fancy pool you see online is in that part of the hotel (which is run by a third party); therefore, guests have to pay 50% of an entrance fee ($10 for men/$5 for women), even though you've already paid a $15 per day resort fee. 5) The hotel is dirty.

"Rude front desk"

We visited this hotel from March 5th-6th, 2020. When we arrived we asked if we could upgrade our room to an ocean front room. The clerk was very rude and said that there were no rooms on the ocean. We were disappointed but even though she was so rude we knew there was nothing we could do. There were 4 of us and we asked to book a 2nd room at the same rate as the first rate.again she was extremely rude and the rate she was charging was $70.00 more than the rate we paid. There was no way that she would even try and reduce the rate. We decided that the 4 of us would just stay in one room. We got to our room and hooked up to the hotel wi-fi where on their home page the rate was $70.00 cheaper than the clerk quoted us. Back down to the reservation desk we went and showed her their own home page. She still would not match the rate on their page. We stood there and booked it on line in front of her and guess what, our second room was ocean front. Not 10 minutes earlier had she told me that there were no ocean front rooms available. She was smug, rude and arrogant. After the treatment we received from the front desk will we ever step foot in the Godfrey again. Other people were at the front desk complaining about their dirty rooms and the front desk could care less. The shampoo and conditioner containers on the wall in our room were empty. The balcony door did not lock properly. There are no safes in the room. There is a restaurant on site where we had the breakfast buffet. The food was cold and the price was ridiculous. We have stayed at this hotel 3 times when it was called the Bayshore and the staff were amazing and so accommodating. When we asked to speak to a manger, they said there was no manager on site. The morning we were checking out, there was another couple at the front desk who wanted to speak to a manager because they were also unhappy. Again they said there was no manager on site. The only good thing about this hotel is the proximity to the airport. I would try the Sailport Hotel or the Doubletree next time as they are within walking distance of the Godfrey with good proximity to the airport. Don’t waste your time or money on this hotel!!!! the rudeness is just horrible. When I said to the front desk clerk that I was going to right a negative review on trip advisor to let others know about the way we were treated she just said “ go ahead darling”.
