Really great experience again now for the 2nd time. Amazing front desk staff including Jordan who was super friendly and helpful checking me in. Great location and with easy access to transit, restaurants, and a Safeway a 5 minute walk away. Rooms are very comfortable and very clean. Definitely one of my favorite hotels in SF, will absolutely be back!

"Very nice, minimalist hotel with some minor downsides"

Club Quarters was a great choice in general. Helpful staff. Clean, good-looking, well-organized room with all the essentials and none of the fluff. Just what I needed for this quick trip. Would be 5 stars, except... Only downsides: The breakfast experience is just okay. Food's good, but service is kind of surly and it feels like you're basically eating in a dark bar (with some people drinking cocktails at 8:30 AM). Not my idea of a great start to the day, but, hey, if it's yours, then maybe you'll like it. I prefer sunny and airy. The other issue is parking. SF parking is always a pain and expensive, and normally you can park at the Embarcadero Center just a block away. But if you are out "late" (11:30pm??) they close the gates. Then you have to park (still at the huge EC) but 4 blocks away. That's annoying, when you're also paying $45 a night for parking. Upside? Great location if you need to be downtown or just want to be close to the Embarcadero area. 15 minute walk to the Exploratorium, for example.

"A good budget hotel with kitchenette in Embarcadero!"

The room is called the “diplomat” room. It was a little inconvenient to book this room. I checked out this hotel prior to staying here and when I tried to book it with them in person, they told me to book a normal suite online and then call to upgrade for the “diplomat” room. Rooms are a bit dated but this is one of the hotels that offered a larger room with kitchen amenities and a patio for a longer stay. Also located in a very safe area. A 5 minute walk to the ferry building. Across from the Jay hotel so in the evenings you can hear the music playing from their bar. Front desk, Brian was very friendly and helpful but the rest were not as accommodating. Even had a bit of a billing issue the second time I tried to book again and spoke to the Manager. Although the erroneous charges were credited, how it was handled was not pleasant. A good budget hotel if you’re looking to stay longer and needed some kitchen amenities in a safe location by the Ferry Building. Definitely has potential to be great if the service was better and rooms are updated.
