"Promising, yet disappointing"

We went as a 30th Anniversary gift from my parents. First the good. The room was decent. Every time we called housekeeping or mainteneance, they were quick to respond. Location was good for us being between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Now the rest. To begin with, after we checked in, we were ushered over to the discount ticket booth. Mind you this is after working 5 hours in the morning and a 7 hour drive to the resort, so we are tired and ready to get to the room. When the lady (Maya or Mika something like that) said that we could get tickets to 2 shows and Anakeesta for ~$120, it sounded good, so I asked/verified that we didn't need to do anything else but just buy these tickets from them and she said "yes". Well, when we went to buy them, suddenly we have to go on some tour and some other stuff and when I questioned why she just said that we didn't need to do anything else, she said, "Oh I mentioned it". That is complete BS, and I verified with my wife, and she said there was no mention of any tour either. So, Mika/Maya is a liar and/or apparently cares more about selling stuff than the truth and your time and mental health. Basically, I couldn't wait for the stay to be over after that treatment. I deal with liars all day and don't need it on my vacation. Also, the "best place in the resort", according to her, had a nice view of the air conditioning units. The dryer was broken and chasing the centipede out added to the experience. There was no bath mat. The TV didn't have all the channels and the "water park" is basically 2 small slides and a lazy river for $35 each person. Total rip off. We might have done it for $20, but that is iffy and $35 is highway robbery. We had some questions about check out so we tried to call the front desk and after ringing for 12 minutes, we hung up. Also, went to check on some tickets and there was no one at the ticket booth at 11 in the morning. I guess if no one is checking in that they can sell to, they don't care about helping anyone already on the resort. That about sums it up. I would look elsewhere before settling here.

"Beautiful scenery in a lovely place"

I saw this Resort on a Westgate email but wasn't sure! But it got me at "Waterpark" and "Spa". Boy was I surprised. The area had had a major fire but has rebuilt within the last 4 years. The Resort is beautiful. Lovely wooden cabins with outdoor heated pools, with one right at the top of the resort, being an infinity pool. The waterpark is good with a lazy river and lots of things for the child in you. Of course being America, most people drive. For those who don't, a trolley service comes right to the Resort and is free to Gatlinburg - the nearest town. With so much to do, I never made it to the Spa!. The only thing that I would point out is that it is very hilly but the resort has a shuttle service to get you up and down also if you see a member of staff riding in a golfcart, flag them down and they will take you up or down. The other staff are so friendly and polite There is also an activity programme with daily activities for children (or you) during the day and some nighttime activities too. After all that I SAW SOME BEARS who scurry off when they saw us. All in all, a lovely place and a brilliant holiday.

"Discounted Tickets 529 Parkway Gatlinburg, TN"

This is more about their discount ticket booths on the main strip in Gatlinburg. They give you discounted tickets to some of the various activities in the area provided that you go to a "90" Minute sales pitch for a timeshare at The Westgate Resort. Now the deals on the tickets is a good deal if the Sales pitch lasted the 90 minutes they tell you it will last.....the problem is that it's more than 3hrs if you don't buy their timeshare & probably 5 or 6 hours if you do buy one. The problem is that someone is lying, either the people in the storefront booth or the "concierge" that should be referred to salesman. The location of the storefront is 529 Parkway, Gatlinburg TN.

I go yearly. Nice experience. I'm a time share owner. Resent the free trip tactic with them trying to upgrade or sell you bigger unit. You can also attempt to get specific building or unit, usually doesn't work out. This was first year I didn't get a balcony facing the city view. Very disappointing.
