"Absolutely the best vacation!"

This place was absolutely amazing! But I have to put a life gaurd on blast in a very good way. Timothy skipper was above and beyond amazing!! He made sure to keep a smile on his face every time I seen him along with showing he actually cared about his job and the safety of the kids when my son had been kicked by another child playing rough in the big pool! He deserves a raise plus all the praise possible he’s a kind a caring person who enjoys his job and you can tell it!! The rest of the staff at the resort were all so wonderful we were welcomed at the gate every time we came back with a smile and a “welcome home” greeting! All employees would smile and wave and if I ever needed anything they were quick to get me whatever it was! The room was clean and amazing my children and I enjoyed the view we had even if we didn’t get a balcony this time hopefully next time tho!! The water park was amazing so kid friendly even toddler accessible! We always felt safe! Can’t wait to go back!!

"Clean & Rude Lying Salespeople"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

Positives- The room is very updated and clean. Included mini-golf is a bonus. Negatives- Water park is expensive and small. Very busy and small parking spaces. Expensive grocery market. Staff lies about “gifts” for watching timeshare presentation and duration. The “free” trip promised actually will cost hundreds of dollars, and we had to physically stand up and walk away at 112 minutes (after promised no more than 90 minutes). Very comical and scummy sales tactics. Be prepared to wave away sales people from the moment you walk in the door to check in. (They will likely be super rude to you after you say no).

"DO NOT BE FOOLED INTO A 90 MINUTE PRESENTATION."
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed November 07, 2025 NEW
This was the WORST experience. The “free” breakfast” is cold eggs and sausage. They said it would be a 90 minute presentation. They kept us for 5 hours. FIVE HOURS of the best part of the day WASTED! They would not take NO for an answer. We were TRAPPED. I almost had to call 911 for help to get out of there.

"Beautiful Gatlinburg and the Westgate Smokey Mountain Resort and Waterpark"

Had an absolutely fabulous time at the Westgate Smokey Mountain Resort and Waterpark. My husband and I and my daughter, son in law and 10 month old grandson stayed in 2 connecting 1 bedroom units that were such a perfect set up and very accommodating. We were in building 160 and had the most amazing views. One morning we had a visit from a cute bear just below our balcony. What an awesome surprise. Check in was very crowded but moved quickly. I can’t say enough about the staff, they go above and beyond to welcome you and always greet you with a smile. Shuttle service was always available. Never had to wait long at all. We had breakfast twice and dinner once at the Southern Comfort restaurant, food was delicious and servers were very attentive. We never were approached by any timeshare people so that was not an issue. So, a big thank you to all the wonderful staff at Westgate resort for helping us make some of the best memories. I miss you already and can’t wait to come and visit again.

"Great Week Long Stay with Amazing Views!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5.0 out of 5
Reviewed September 26, 2025
I will preface this by saying that my parents are timeshare holders, but through Welk Resorts, not Westgate. They also went through the entire checking process while we weren’t there yet. My mom and I have been nervous about this upcoming stay, due to the reviews about pushy and harassing salespeople. However, we had zero experience with any of this. They asked my parents once if they’d like a tour or discount tickets. The declined and that was it! We were in Building 160, basically at the top of the mountain near the mountain top pool and bar. We had adjoining rooms A&C. The room was huge! It had a great living and dining area with a big kitchen! It had a master bedroom with a whirlpool tub in the room and a big bathroom with rainfall shower head! Also a 1/2 bathroom off the kitchen. The kitchen is not fully stocked. While there are utensils, pots, pans, etc, there are no basic seasonings, so be prepared to buy those if you plan on cooking! All appliances in our room worked great! Also had a washer & dryer! But the best part of the room was the balcony and the view! The view from our room was stunning! Gorgeous Mountain View’s! A bear basically sat next to our porch one day as well!!! Sadly, my klutzy self tripped over my own shoe and broke my foot the second day there, so I didn’t get to use the pools or mini golf!!! My parents loved the karaoke at the pool bar though lol! There is a liquor store right off property when you come in which was super helpful, and they serve coffee in the Marketplace! A Kroger and a Walmart and a Target are all within a 20 minute drive to get supplies and food, which is what we did our first day there. The lobby will accept Amazon packages for you, just in case you break your foot and need a knee scooter to get around! The staff is all so friendly and came when we had any issues or needed towels. We had dinner and breakfast at the main restaurant, Southern Comfort. It’s a very nice place and the food was great! We also ordered pizza twice from their onsite Mountain Pizza, which was great too! We didn’t use the shuttles or trolleys as we had our own car. Just be careful if you’re high up! Those roads are steep and a bit scary, especially at night! Overall we had an amazing week there! Broken foot be darned! Just decline free tickets and sales pitches and enjoy your time there! We would come again in a heartbeat!
