"Would definitely go back"
March 2019
I booked a trip to Orlando through the phone operator, she was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The resort was beautiful and there were so many things to do, I couldn't get to everything in the short time I was on premises. We were there during the Winter so it was quiet and very comfortable.

This vacation was soooo needed. Westgate did a awesome job keeping us safe during the pandemic. They have hand sanitizers, free masks, temperature check, and they have also keep each use of equipments clean after each usage of a person.

The Westgate Lakes Property is huge & the staff accommodating. However I did not expect the clientele to be what it was. It was a very (for lack of a better word) trashy situation, literally. I thought that there would be a higher class level of people staying at this resort than the local hotels, but I was wrong. The property itself is impressive and the pools are decently kept up. But trash strewn about is everywhere. You cant go anywhere on the humongous property without people smoking cigarettes or other substances and leaving their butts everywhere. We honesty some nights didn't feel completely safe walking to our building. I rated three stars taking the pandemic into consideration. Positives: - Size of the two bedroom suite. It is HUGE. - Staff helpful within their limitations - Air conditioning and appliances worked great (minus washer/dryer but no big deal) - Bedding Comfortable -Plenty of towels Negatives: - No one knows what is going on. We called and asked the same question and got multiple answers. Are shuttles running to the theme parks? One person told us Yes, the next day a different person says no. Is Putt Putt Open? One person yes, next person no. Its free .. its not free. No one knows. I'm chalking this up to COVID and the changes, so wasnt to upset, but still a little frustrating. - NO SHUTTLE TO PARKS - big negative that we didnt realize until after we got here. So add $26 a day to parking to your list of expenses. - No housekeeping? We had never stayed here so having no housekeeping for a week was a little strange, however we did call needing something one time and they did bring it. - Elevator - Long waits for elevator (one elevator was out of service the whole time). - Technology - OLD technology. TVs only had about 10 visible channels and no way to access netflix or hulu. Overall this was a decent place to stay and we would stay here again, if we had to. I feel your money is better spent at a Universal or Disney On Site resort where it is much cleaner and less sketchy. Even if you are on a budget the smaller hotel chains that provide a shuttle are in my opinion a better option.

"Comfortable Stay"

Booked 5 nights stay through Lastminute.com for 2 adults and 1 child at really good rice. Stayed in family room that had double bed, sofa bed, kitchenette, bath and separate shower. Room is comfortable and pool areas are nice to hang out with family. The only thing that dampened my experience staying at this resort was that I naively went along to a free talk, as I was told by check in staff I would receive gift voucher for towards various tourist places in Orlando. I ended up wasting nearly 2hrs being shown by sales team - around the resort viewing their newer upgraded apartments. When I told the sales guy that I wasn’t interested in buying timeshare he continued to pressure me and when I said firmly “no I’m not interested but can I have the vouchers I was offered” his attitude changed and was very rude. My advice is don’t get sucked into going to seminar because you’ll waste half of your day trying to get away from sales staff. Apart from that the resort is ok.

"Horrible customer service"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5

We had a horrible experience. I don’t recommend going through Westgate Resorts. The lady at the front desk (Nixie Caraballo) was very rude when we attempted to check in for our tour. We were told our reservation was invalid, and Nixie stated that her hands were tied and that we needed to contact the “3rd party VIP vacations” which we did. I will say that the people we spoke with at VIP vacations via phone were very professional. After we confirmed with VIP vacations via telephone that we DID have an 11 am tour time, we returned to the hotel for the tour. We arrived several minutes early. Nixie approached us very rudely and told us we still did not have a tour time, and we were no longer eligible for a tour. She refused to listen to anything we had to say regarding what we had just been told by VIP vacations. There was clearly miscommunication between the two entities. However, only Westgate was inhospitable.

We decided to take our family vacation here the week of thanksgiving. I’m not one that likes going to Florida as I don’t like the heat or humidity, (it’s not bad In November but still blah) we had a very pleasant time here. Very friendly staff, rooms were tip top, pools and bars were great, we fished, paddle boated, golfed and swam. Can not wait to come back this thanksgiving.
