"Would definitely go back"
March 2019
I booked a trip to Orlando through the phone operator, she was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The resort was beautiful and there were so many things to do, I couldn't get to everything in the short time I was on premises. We were there during the Winter so it was quiet and very comfortable.

"Poor customer service which they fail to acknowledge!"

Currently staying at this resort with my husband. We arrived at the check in desk around 6.15pm, and they couldn’t find our reservation. Took the lady around 1 hour to “solve”, while we just stood and waited. We eventually got our keys, but when we arrived to the room with the bellboy, the room was messy/ the bed was used! Absolutely ridiculous for this type of resort. The bellboy rung the front desk, and requested for a new room ASAP, and possibly an upgrade. We waited for atleast 45 more minutes outside the original room, waiting for them to call us with the new room details. Eventually got to the new room, and the manager called us on the phone, to offer a late check out, that’s all! We declined, and they said they can give us a free meal at the restaurant on site. They also refused to acknowledge that something was wrong with the first room, which angered me more. The bellboy, my husband and I were all pretty disappointed with the whole experience, so doubt we will be back in a hurry.

"Dated, run down and disappointing"

I am used to a hotel experience, so my review may be skewed. I am traveling on business and arrived late last night to be golf carted to my building, which is about a mile away from any type of amenity. I arrived in a room that has a broken TV, a phone from 1962 which cannot be used to connect to the front desk, a missing door latch and a wardrobe that is too short to hang my dresses, with no other option. There is no water in the room and absolutely no where for me to buy water without walking a mile to the front lobby. The fluorescent lighting and sticky carpet make this the least favorite place I have stayed in a long time. I would consider this an extreme value hotel and I am disappointed to be here for 7 nights.

Was interested in learning more about Westgate timeshares and signed up for the “90 minute tour” with my wife. My wife and I ended up spending 3+ hours with our agent after we repeatedly mentioned we needed to leave to drive to Clearwater to celebrate Thanksgiving with our family. We were constantly approached by different managers/agents who would not take no for an answer. It is truly sad how this resort has zero respect for potential time share owners and severely pressures couples into purchasing time shares. Nice resort, however it is sickening the disrespect and pressure the employees put on potential buyers. Ended up being late for Thanksgiving.. awful experience, highly do not recommend.

"Nice play to stay, a few suggestions to improve, I would return again."

We stayed thanksgiving week on an AC from interval. I declined the timeshare pitch and was not bothered about it again for the rest of my trip. The 2 bedroom was nice, probably the biggest jacuzzi tub I have ever seen in a master room, plenty of hot water to fill it. The showers had great pressure and the room was clean and furniture comfortable. Pools were heated, the bowling was fun, and they had paddle boats and fishing rods for use. Many other things to do too. I normally try to stay at Marriott timeshares in the Orlando area, but this is one of the better Westgates I have stayed at in Orlando, but I do have a few suggestions. 1. Replace the foosball table, it is literally falling apart. 2. Roll the price of WiFi into the resort fee or room rates or both. Feels very “Nickle and dime” to pay for WiFi anymore. Even McDonald’s has free WiFi. My WiFi was comped, but it was hit or miss. It would have been annoying if I paid for it. 3. Fix the boats you can rent that have motors or remove it from your website. I have a bad leg and my dad is 71. I did the paddle boats with my kids as best I could, but my dad could not do it. We were looking forward to renting a motorized boat. 4. I would love to see an 8 foot basketball hoop for the kids, but I get it, some adults would hang on the rim and destroy it. 5. 2 lanes at the security gate. I would return again, but only on an interval AC. With the AC, resort fees are included which keeps the costs down and makes it a good deal for this resort.

We stayed at this resort in a Studio, room 1442B, for the first time. We typically stay in a Marriott time share. We were not impressed. The building was run down and dingy in some areas. The industrial strength spot lights mounted near the 3rd floor shining at the pool (and into our bedroom) until after midnight were HORRIBLE. The units have thin warped, damaged vertical blinds and do NOT have black out curtains. Trying to get to sleep was rough most nights. The ice machine was broken for the entire week we were there. Parking close was a nightmare, especially when service vehicles park in the guest areas over night. The A/C was hit or miss, not really cooling the unit throughout the evening. Elevator stopped at all floors whether lights were lit up or not. All of our issues were reported and we received the comments that “it was noted” or that “they were sorry”. The resort is not a horrible place to stay but it is definitely not the same quality that we are used to while staying with Marriott. We ended up leaving a day early because we were just “done” with our stay.
