"Unprofessional general manager"

I booked this hotel along with 5 others for a road trip vacation. Unfortunately my spouse passed away suddenly so I had to cancel the entire trip. Every hotel kindly canceled the booking without applying any fees. When I called this hotel to cancel it was almost 11pm on the day my spouse passed and when I told them the reason for passing the girl that answered the phone stated she couldn’t cancel my reservation that the manager had to do it. She took my info and I thought that was the end of it as I never heard back from them and the reservation showed canceled in my app. 5 days later I noticed the hotel charged me a cancelation fee. I called and was unable to provide the date of arrival. I called back 10-20 minutes later and the general manager told me I had called several times and each time a different person in my travel party died she stated I was a lair and a scammer who was attempting to get out of my booking and therefore she assessed a cancelation fee. I told her I called twice today and once last week. She said she had notes of how many times I called and the number of people I spoke to. She was unprofessional and rude for absolutely no reason. One should not be working with the public with such a poor attitude and unprofessional behavior. I called the hotel group and they apologized for the general managers behavior and are having to escalate the situation to the hotel owner. As the general manager told the hotel group that I was lying and attempting to get out of a booking as well. Even though the hotel group could see several bookings that were canceled for the same reason.

"GREAT HOTEL FOR OVERNIGHT OR JUST DRINKS IN THE BAR AND LOUNGE"

We watched the Bills football game in the giacomo lounge and celebrated our anniversary January 11. Quetina waited on us and made us feel comfortable and special. We should add we spend our honeymoon night here and our first anniversary and the hotel rooms and breakfast and other amenities like the sky view lounge are wonderful!! The atmosphere is great; TV at bar- another TV at a living room Lounge with fireplace and coffee table tor a drinks and munchies. Great drink prices, too!! We will be there again…hopefully for another playoff game!! Thank you for keeping a beautiful old building in Niagara Falls so inviting.

"Do not believe a receptionist when she tells you the booking was cancelled!"

I cannot review as when I arrived, the receptionist told me my booking had been cancelled. She kept typing on her computer, confirming there had been two bookings cancelled. Their mistake! Did not offer me room.

"Beautiful Historical Hotel"

What a neat historical hotel! The hotel was beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was very cozy and very well furnished. We really enjoyed the extra sitting area in the evening. The breakfast was very good too! Really appreciated the free coffee and cookies available in the entry and the bar was super nice. Probably the best part of this hotel was the great location! Right down the street from The Niagara State Park! The staff told us we could go up to the very top floor and view the fireworks they did over the Falls every night too! That was a great way to view them! The area around the hotel had several restaurants and the parking was in a secure gated lot right across the street. If your going to the park, this is definitely the hotel to stay in!

"Great location and best views in Niagara Falls, NY"

Excellent location just a few blocks from Niagara Park and the islands. We booked a 1 bedroom with a kitchen, it was surprisingly large. The staff is really, really nice and friendly. I brought my service dog. They were very accommodating and they are a dog friendly hotel. The hotel parking is across the street, gated with an assigned space. There is also complimentary breakfast (bread, potato, sausages/bacon, eggs, Waffle station, cereal and yogurt). My husband enjoyed the breakfast. They also have fruit water, coffee and cookies available at the lobby and a bar. The apartment badly needs a renovation. It's strangely decorated, I would describe as a bit goth or 80's victorian. (Those prints of abstract paintings should be burned, they make the apt feel a bit macabre) The apartment was dark and the furniture is old and beaten up. The floor was weirdly sticky, I'd recommend bringing slippers. The large bathroom has a jacuzzi tub, a small pedestal sink in between 2 cabinets but there is nowhere to hang a towel, no hooks or towel bars. The vases of plastic flowers had cobwebs and was full of dust. There are also exposed vent or AC tubing/pipes(?) in the ceiling and can be a bit loud. The kitchen had basic supplies, I did not use them except the microwave. The best part of this place was the view (rm 1310) it was spectacular! We had great views of the falls and at night the fireworks at 10. There are hotels near by but I would still recommend this hotel. I did alot of research and they are comparably priced but I think they have the best views. We spent 2days/3nights and that was enough to do see everything in the area.
