"Met with a warm smile."

While recently visiting your establishment i had the pleasure of speaking with Alexis who met me with a giant smile. She was very personable; she approached me because I looked a little lost but had misplaced my phone in the moment. She asked me if I needed anything and how I was doing. She told me about the establishment and made some drink recommendations for me and my friends at the bar. I so appreciated her kind, warm, and welcoming vibe. She was definitely a ray of sunshine when it was so blah and cold in the windy city.

"Exceptional Work of Art at the SOPHY"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

The SOPHY Hotel was absolutely exceptional. We stayed for one night while supporting a nationally syndicated radio host ahead of an interview the following day, and the experience exceeded expectations. Michael, the General Manager, was outstanding, as was his entire team, especially Paige, who was attentive, accommodating, and incredibly kind throughout our logistical stay. We were also assisted at the restaurant by another team member, an African American woman whose name begins with a “T”, and she was phenomenal as well. Her service truly stood out. The hotel itself is a work of art, literally. Every floor is filled with stunning, edgy, boutique-style art and thoughtful design. If you love art, creativity, and a bold architectural aesthetic, this hotel is a must-stay. It’s visually striking, beautifully curated, and full of character. Although our stay was brief, it was chef’s kiss from start to finish. We are thoroughly impressed and will absolutely be back. Highly, highly recommend. Thank you again to Michael, Paige, and the entire team for such a memorable experience, we’re very grateful.

Celebrated our 12th anniversary here. The Sophy is a living exhibit of works by local visual artists, writers and musicians. Nice jazz trio in the lounge the night we arrived. Aesthetically pleasing. Comforting. Staff make the real difference; wish we could recall every name. Thank you Sam, Precious, Chris, Nicholette, and all who spoiled us in the Mesler kitchen, bar and lounge. Special thanks to the Chef for creating delicious and gorgeous foods and the best vanilla ice cream we ever had.
