Enjoy a 12-minute ride on San Francisco’s first waterfront wheel in Fisherman’s Wharf.
There are no weight, height, or age restrictions.
The ride is enjoyable for all ages! Children two (2) years old and under are admitted free.
Strollers are allowed if they fit inside the gondola, otherwise, you can leave it at the ticket booth.
Food and drinks are not allowed inside the gondola.
The wheel is fully ADA-accessible. Service animals allowed.
Gondolas are fully enclosed. The wheel operates rain, shine or fog!
If forecast calls for rain, bring an umbrella or raincoat to keep you dry while you wait in line.

For unparalleled views of the San Francisco skyline and Bay Harbor, take a ride on the SkyStar Wheel. Standing 150 feet tall along the Barbary Coast Trail, this giant Ferris wheel at Fisherman's Wharf is the city's first waterfront observation wheel.

Located between Pier 39 and Boudin Bakery, SkyStar Wheel offers bird’s-eye views of San Francisco, from North Beach, Russian Hill, and the Telegraph Hill neighborhoods to Coit Tower, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, and Sausalito. You can even see the notorious Alcatraz Island.

SkyStar features 36 gondolas that are fully enclosed so that rain won't put a damper on your ride. Each gondola can hold up to six guests and are private for your group. General admission rides last approximately 12-minutes per ride.

Bike parking is available on-site. For car parking, the adjacent lot at 2860 Taylor Street is available. Additional parking lots are also located nearby for your convenience.

General Admission tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis and can be used at any time during operating hours on the date selected. You may arrive anytime that’s convenient for you.

How long does each ride last?

Rides last approximately 9-12 minutes.

What is the capacity of each gondola?

The Ferris wheel can accommodate 1–6 adults inside each gondola. All riders ages two (2) and above must have their own ticket. Children under 2 years old may sit on an adult's lap.
