The experience was expected for the time my friend and I went as a 93* Friday afternoon. The problem was how they handled the ticket purchasing. Here is the email correspondence between us: Hello Friends at The San Antonio Zoo! I am curious about your ticket price. I am a teacher, and I drove with my friend to the San Antonio Zoo last Friday afternoon with the hopes of redeeming the coupon for a half price ticket for my friend whom I invited to share my visit to see your animals. I do not understand how his price came out to $19.99 plus the service charge of $5. Google AI suggests the price of a San Antonio ticket should be $27. When viewing the general admission page, it also suggests General Admission can be for $34.99. Divide that figure by 50% and add the $5 service charge which equals $22.50. Perhaps you can see why people viewing your information online might be somewhat confused. It is not my intent to squabble over a $2.49 difference, but San Antonio teachers are not paid substantial salaries compared to the cost of living these days. I suspect this is the exact reason why the San Antonio Zoo is extending this courtesy to their teachers during the month of June for which I am grateful. However, if an option existed at the special counter for me to pay in cash, I would have done so and not paid the $5 convenience fee for my credit card. While the ladies at the front were nice, they did not give me that option. Teachers always appreciate the instructions provided prior to the assignment, not after. Your Zoo Patron, P Dear Teacher, we are pleased to inform you that you have received a complimentary ticket valued at $39.99. Additionally, you are entitled to a half-price ticket for your guest, also priced at $39.99. Dear San Antonio Zoo. Y'all were not up front with charges and the options of payment. I was confused with the process which way was the best way to purchase the tickets, online versus any other method. Google did not help in the matter. I am quite dissatisfied if way you have treated your customers and I will not be patronizing your establishment in the near future or recommended it to others.
