Radisson Hotel Santa Maria in Santa Maria, CA

Very disappointed. And I'm surprised at other reviews. I'm assuming I got a room that had been forgotten. The carpet was stained to the point I didn't take my shoes off. Curtains had stains and wallpaper was peeling everywhere in the room. They are going thru remodeling, but for the cost of my room, I would expect Motel 6 prices not the price I paid. And the location is at the end of town away from everything. If you are flying in, it's a good location, but otherwise to far from the heart of Santa Maria. Sorry, I will not be staying here again.

The place is under const. Our room had no AC/heat. Room was so hot. No pool we had an outside room so the const. noise was smaller. The elevator is scarey. They brought us a fan but it was noisey. The staff tried but they had no options. They had times where the water had to be turned off.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel on May 16th and 17th, 2025 and honestly, we were shocked by the state of the place, but not in a good way. The hotel is basically a full-blown construction site. The pool, lobby, restaurant, and gym are all being remodeled, meaning almost none of the advertised amenities were available. Nowhere on the website did it mention the extent of the ongoing construction, which feels incredibly misleading. The noise was relentless not only from the construction, which goes on seven days a week, but also from the obnoxiously loud elevator that made it hard to relax at all. Between the dust, debris, and nonstop noise, we felt more like we were staying in a half-demolished building than a functioning hotel. We’ve attached photos to give a better idea of what we experienced. To top it off, when we asked about the renovation timeline, we were told it wouldn’t be completed until April 2026 nearly a full year away. Honestly, I left feeling like we should’ve been comped for the stay. I’m not sure I’d stay here again even if it was finished. A Motel 6 might’ve been a better, quieter, and more transparent choice. Be extremely cautious before booking here this is not the relaxing stay you might be expecting.

Very unfriendly reception staff when checking in. Felt like we were a nuisance. Not once did she smile or make us feel welcome. The rooms were comfortable enough. Decor is tired but there is an extensive upgrade going on. Lots of construction in hotel

PARENTS — AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!! The moment we walked in there were tarps plastered all over the wall, immediately made us feel uneasy. The first room they gave us was disgusting. The wallpaper was peeling, black mold caked in the windowsill, and there was leftover food (pieces of sausage) on the floor from the previous guest. I have a toddler who puts everything in her mouth and they clearly didn’t bother cleaning this room so we requested another. The second room was just as bad: more black mold, our sink had a black ring inside of it from the last guests & it filled with disgusting water anytime we tried to use it. The shower was completely dysfunctional. The absolute worst part of this stay… While my 2-year-old daughter was playing on the desk chair, I noticed something sticking out of the cushion. When I picked it up with a bag, I was horrified to find a cut straw covered in drug residue. If I had not caught this in time, my child would have put it in her mouth as any 2 year old would with a straw. I have never felt more horrified, disgusted, and absolutely furious in my life. For $300+, this was the most horrifying hotel stay I have ever experienced. The lack of cleanliness, mold, loud construction, and DRUG PARAPHERNALIA IN OUR ROOM make this place completely unsafe. If you have children, value your health, or care about safety, DO NOT STAY HERE. Spend the extra money for a safe and clean hotel—this place is not worth the risk!
