"Best Vacation Ever"
March 2015
We went to the Top of Gatlinburg and stayed at the Park Vista by Double Tree by Hilton everything was excellent from our reservations all the way until we got back home. Kids had a great time swimming in the indoor pool along with riding the glass elevator. Not to mention overlooking Gatlinburg at night that was great!

"Nice suite"

We were immediately impressed with the location of this hotel at the peak of the hillside. The hotel stands out with its modern architecture and 15 stories overlooking a vast majority of 2 story motels . The lobby area felt dark and unexciting for first time arrivals. The smell of freshly popped popcorn felt welcoming near the bar area. However we quickly learned that the popcorn was not complementary and a missed opportunity for the hotel. The bar area was always empty even during the 5 o clock hour. The front desk area was efficient but not polished customer service types. The room was fantastic with great views of the mountains. The suite offered a separate sofa bed and t.v. A door for privacy. Unfortunately the air conditioner in the master room was noisy, but the room temperature was manageable. We were also disappointed to learn the gym closes at 12pm. It really should remain open 24 hours. We did not see the pool either which was tucked away someplace down and away from the main part of the hotel. Overall a pleasant experience and would highly recommend over other hotels we saw in that area.

"Outstanding Views & Great Staff, but a bit inconvenient and dated in some areas"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed July 17, 2019 NEW
The Park Vista probably has the best view of Mt. LeConte of any Gatlinburg hotel, and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. Even though serviced by the Red and Green Trolleys, its location on a steep hilltop on the outskirts of town make it a bit inconvenient to quickly run into and back out of town. You could wait as much as a half hour on a trolley, and even then you may have to ride through several minutes of unnecessary stops. To some, that may not be a big deal, to others with small kids, waiting around is not always ideal. Ideally, the hotel should simply run its own shuttle service continually to the center of town and back, with no other stops. The indoor pool, while quite popular with kids, is actually a bit a dated, and has an exceptionally rough/jagged bottom and sides - so much so that my kids cut their feet on 2 different occasions. The water slides were fun for the kids. While all rooms have a balcony, they are very small with no outdoor furniture and are flooded with air conditioning condensation all summer. The rooms themselves are comfortable enough, complete with a decently sized mini-fridge. Overall, slight inconveniences of the location and datedness of some areas counterbalance the views, making this hotel a very average value.

Great views. Comfortable beds. Plush towels. Elegant lobby. Nice buffet breakfast and dinner. Only wish they had a cafe to have access to fresh coffee throughout the day. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to any one staying in the area.
