Where does the Kona snorkeling tour depart from?

The snorkeling tour departs from the Kailua Pier at 75-5660 Palani Rd, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. The pier is located in the heart of Kailua Kona on the west side, approximately six miles south of Kona International Airport at Keahole.

Where do we check in?

You will check in at Body Glove Ocean Adventure's Retail Shop, a one block walk to the Kailua Kona Pier and the closest free parking. The retail shop is located in the Ilima Court Shopping Center at 75-5629 Kuakini Hwy., Kailua Kona, HI, 96740.

Is parking available?

You'll find complimentary parking at Body Glove Cruises' office/retail shop at 75-5629 Kuakini Highway, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740, located one block away from the Kailua Pier. You'll also find closer parking spaces at Hotel King Kamehameha for a nominal fee. There are two stalls of wheelchair-accessible parking in the cul-de-sac in front of the Kailua Pier on a first-come, first-serve basis.

What if I’ve never snorkeled before?

Body Glove Hawaii specializes in accommodating seasoned and new swimmers and snorkelers. The snorkeling 101 course is available for non-swimmers and those who want a refresher. Floatation devices are also available for use. The raft's captain and crew are first aid, CPR, and lifeguard-certified. At least three designated lifeguards are on watch while anyone is in the water.

Are prescription masks offered?

Yes. Complimentary masks with built-in prescription lenses ranging from -1.5 to -7.0 are available with 24-hour advance notice. Please have your prescription strength available when requesting.

Can I bring my own snorkel gear?

Yes, absolutely! If you do forget your equipment at home, however, don't worry. Body Glove Cruises provides complimentary use of all the sanitized gear needed for snorkeling.

Are there bathrooms or showers on board?

Yes, the Kona Explorer super-raft has one onboard restroom and two freshwater showers.

Should I bring sunscreen?

You don't have to. Body Glove Cruises provides reef-safe sunscreen that does not harm the coral reef and stays on your skin and not in the ocean. The super-raft has several SPF pump stations on board for complimentary use. Just bring your own sunscreen if you require a specific brand for medical reasons.

Are special dietary needs accommodated on the tour?

Are there any restrictions to the snorkeling adventure?

Due to the extreme speed and excitement of the super-raft ride to and from the snorkeling sites, children ages five and below, pregnant guests, and those with neck and back pain are not allowed to join the trip. Children and adolescents ages six to 17 are permitted on the super-raft but must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older.

Is the super-raft wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, no. It is not wheelchair accessible. For the safety of all passengers and crew on board, the boat requires passengers to be physically agile and able to navigate the boarding process with ease.
