Definitely a happy surprise. Great room. No view but clean, quiet. (Thete ARE ocean view rooms) Good breakfast. Excellently situated between the pier, restaurants, and the marriott a short walk to the right, with shops, market and more restaurants to the left. Walkable to safeway. The only minus was a short but darkish walk in a narrow street to the hotel from the main street but i'm especially sensitive to that travelling solo. Otherwise, security and evening walking were fine.

The staff were super friendly and gave us a free unexpected upgrade. Rooms are spacious and clean. A really nice breakfast included in the stay. Very convenient for shopping, restaurants, excursions and near the beach. All of it you can walk too. It ‘s all right behind the hotel great ice cream, pretty much anything you are looking for. Several souvenir shops reasonably priced. We stayed here on our last day for our vacation. I wished we had more time in this area of Kona as it is very nice.

Spent one night here on business in Kona. Overall, it was very good. My room had clearly been renovated recently. Very clean. Beds, sheets, pillows, and towels all great. I did hear some movement from the room upstairs Pool is nice, but in a pretty small area off the lobby. Free breakfast was fair. Could do with a bit more options. Stay here for a week on vacation? I might, but you can probably find something a bit more “resorty” for about the same price.

On the morning of our checkout, my husband and I briefly stopped at the breakfast area (which the hotel refers to as a “Restaurant”) to grab a quick yogurt before heading to the airport (no time to sit down for breakfast). We placed our two red suitcases and my husband’s black backpack right at the entrance, less than ten feet from the yogurt station. Within less than a minute, while we were selecting the yogurt, the backpack disappeared. The front desk clerk, who was only about five feet away, claimed not to have seen anything and showed no interest in assisting us. Her only response was, “I’m sorry.” There was no sense of urgency, no offer to review cameras, and no manager involvement. This was a deeply troubling experience. We were shocked by the lack of attention to basic guest safety and by the indifference of the staff. Upon checking the hotel’s website later, I noticed the note that the “Property confirms they are implementing guest safety measures,” which now makes me wonder if theft incidents like ours have been recurring. Guests should be aware and take extra precautions with their belongings in public areas. We expected better security and professionalism from an IHG property.

Very convenient location for anybody doing Hawaii Ironman World Championship,-five-minute walk to the finish line, swim and even closer to the race expo. The rooms are roomy, clean and quiet. Breakfast is included, which at Kona prices is a significant savings! You can walk to restaurants, the pier, convenience stores, and grocery stores. I never bother renting a car when I am there, everything is so close. You couldn't ask for a friendlier, more helpful staff. Hot tub is nice, internet was good, and the rooms are much larger than the nearby P19.
