"Great visit. Glad we went"

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. This is a great old fashioned park with several historic rides that you won’t get anywhere else. Park was clean and most employees were friendly. Seemed like a family friendly park. Park is only 80 acres, so it is easy to get around and much appreciated on a hot Friday in July. All rides were operating including the Steel Curtain, which does have operational issues. The wooden rollercoasters are all incredible. Do not miss the over 100 year old Jackrabbit but the Racer and Thunderbolt are very good too. All had short waits. Other unique and historic rides include The Whip, Kangaroo, and the Turtle. No need to get fast pass at least on this weekday. Lines were almost non existent on most rides or less than 30 minutes on the top rides. The park is so small that even if lines are long, you will have time to ride everything. Also, no need to pay for VIP parking. There is free parking and you maybe have to walk an extra two minutes to the gates. If visiting on a hot day, recommend using the carousel restaurant as a base to relax in the A/C as it is convenient to most rides. Recommendations would be to add shade for more of the ride lines and to add more boats for the rafting ride. This was the only ride that took forever to get on while we were there. Park is not in Pittsburgh and is about a 20-25 minute ride from downtown.

"Long time Kennywood patron."

I had the fortune of growing up going to Kennywood every year and then when I was of age working at the park. This is where I met my husband of 36 years. Very fortunate to have the Platinum pass as a family member because I don’t know how a family could afford it any other way. On my visit in July of 2025, I did see a slight improvement with the park, as far as the aesthetic. I just feel there is little thought in the parks layout and what they offer to their patrons. As I listened to fellow patrons I heard the pluses and minuses of their visit to Kennywood. Most complained about the fact they close early, sometimes before dark truly hits to enjoy the lights. Maybe if you are short staffed, open later and extend the night. A lot of complaints about the funnel cake lines…maybe expand your food attractions to get the line moving. Same for the patch fries. Speaking of food…remember when they had great home cooked meals in the cafeteria? This is where the large families would meet up and enjoy a nice meal at the cafeteria. Maybe make it a themed 1950-60’s throwback. Speaking of throwbacks…this is where I complain myself ALOT! Lost Kennywood, more like lost planning. The ride choices are so far of for this area. Now the plunge, swings, and whip great idea! But it should be throw back rides and food. Also…employees should be in vintage uniforms. Maybe have some clowns or other merry acts do street performances. Play it up as if you were back at Luna. Another complaint was the loudness of the lagoon speakers. Why??? Pluses to the park was the phenomenal drone show. Great idea! Games employees were very friendly and kept a smile on everyone’s face, even if they didn’t win. I saw what seemed to be a lot of operations people floating around, but some rides were not operational due to staffing( maybe get operational managers to operate some rides) front gate employees were friendly, but I feel too many were just hangin out. Bathrooms were very clean and well stocked. The parking lot was easy to get in and out. But I will say for decades the long walk up the steep grade is not a way to end your day… I saw a lot of elderly struggle and have to take breaks. This is not acceptable and someone needs to improve it! All in all it was a good day/night. I think f the new owners really look at the teeny details and make it flow better…you will see happy patrons. Worth the visit. Rides when open are a lot of fun.

"Terrible Customer Service"

I would have to agree with some of the reviews. The people who work in customer service are very rude. They have no desire to help the customers. My daughter's phone fell out of her fany pack. She completed the correct paperwork in very very good details to locate the phone. It is seeable from the ride. Customer service said, they couldn't locate it. I don't think anyone looked for it. It still shows in the same location. It's is 80 degree weather and the phone is going to bake. My daughter did everything she was suppose to do, Kennywood has NOT. She even drove out the next day to talk to someone and no one wanted to listen to her. I'm sorry, this is unacceptable. People pay alot of money to enter the park and this is how they are treated. If something is lost, or something happens, you will not get a solution. V

Bought a Speedy pass for 80 dollars, got to the ride. Operator said it was only valid for 1 person. So I go back on I tried to add another person. 40 more dollars, but if you try to add another person price jumps up to 120 lol. How??? So I bought another or so I thought. Go back NO I just upgraded my 80 dollar pass to an "Elite Pass". So I got 1 elite pass for 4 people 2 adults and 2 kids im thinking they were expecting me to pay THREE HUNDRED AND TWENTY DOLLARS up to FOUR HUNDRED AND EIGHTY DOLLARS FOR A FAMILY OF 4!!!!!!!!!! We ate multiple times, played games and everything so you can imagine how much i spent. But the nerve to add another 480 dollars for speedy passes WOW!!!

"Classic, Joyful Park"

I was able to visit Kennywood for the first time in many years and it is just as wonderful as I remember. There are not many parks you can go to in this country that feel like visiting an amusement park from the 1920s. They do such a wonderful job of preserving these classic rides - Jack Rabbit, Racer, Thunderbolt, Noah's Ark, Old Mill, Kangaroo, the Whip, and so on. The Jack Rabbit is a particular favorite of mine. My great grandfather took my great grandmother here for dates and it's such a blessing that I can ride the same roller coasters they went on many years ago. There were practically no lines when I visited and got to ride everything as much as I wanted. The Steel Curtain was briefly open and was fun. The ride seems frail (moderate winds closed it throughout the day), but the classics are more fun anyway. Kennywood is such a park of pure joy and is one of the best parks in the country. Make a detour and spend a day at this classic amusement park.
