My wife and I enjoyed our 8 day stay and hope to return! The hotel and facilities met our expectations for a Hilton Curio Hotel. The hotel is a short walk away from shops and restaurants, the cove and beach. It can get very dark in La Jolla, so recommend bringing a flashlight if walking at night. The room was comfortable, updated and meticulously clean. All rooms have a sweeping view of the ocean and beautiful hills. Our room was serviced most days. The staff was friendly and provided any extra room supplies we requested. The room did not have a microwave, but I understand you can request one. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is a high level of street noise. If sensitive to this, I would recommend staying on the eighth floor or higher. We did not dine at the 11th floor restaurant but did get tasty and elevated pub style sandwiches to go. There is also a small pantry in the lobby and a 24 Hour Shell Station mini-mart just steps from the front door. The pool area does not accommodate a large number of people and has very limited areas that get full sunlight. We are beach people anyway, so did not use the pool. The hotel does not allow you to take the pool towels to the beach but do offer mid-size beach blankets. Parking is pricey at I believe, $45 a day. You can drop off or pick up within 30 minutes without a fee. We were staying in October, so parked around the corner on a residential street.
