Room was airy and comfortable, the balcony view of the ocean ideal. Our breakfast server, Eddie, was the best and made us feel truly welcome. And the hotel really was within very easy walking distance of the beach.

I stayed at Hotel La Jolla and accidentally left my headset behind. I contacted the property immediately and was told it would be shipped to me after I mailed them a return label, which I sent the next day. Weeks passed with no delivery, and when I followed up, I was informed the staff member responsible had left the job. Despite multiple calls, in-person visits, and promises from supervisors that the general manager would contact me, I never received a single follow-up. I returned to the hotel six to eight weeks later and stayed again, hoping to resolve the issue. I visited the front desk three separate times, spoke to supervisors, and even sent a detailed email—but still no response. The lack of professionalism and accountability was deeply disappointing, especially from a Hilton Curio property. I expected better service and communication. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider future stays with Hilton brands.

The room was lovely and the view spectacular. I was especially impressed with the waitstaff in the restaurant who went out of their way to make a great experience for us. I was there for a family wedding and they made every effort to seat us together so we could visit with each other. We live scattered across the country so we don’t get to see each other. Having that time together will be a highlight in our memories. Eddie is particularly delightful! Ben and another waitress whose name I didn’t catch were fabulous as well. They do you proud!
