"Awful, dirty, dreary, disgusting!"

This was a simply awful experience. I was checked by a lovely staff member, went up to put my bags in my room, only find the room unlatched and a couple having sex in “my room”. I went back downstairs and the man at the deck was apologetic and efficiently got me a room on the top 4th floor. The carpet in the corridor was disgustingly dirty. Stains everywhere. I was scared to see my room. Dreary and in need of a deep clean and really needs to be totally refurbished. Slept well. Next morning went use the pre-booked breakfast. I looked what was offered and walked out. If you are going to serve disgusting food don’t insult us charging for it. This place is a dumb. But the staff I interacted with were lovely.

"Save your money, sleep in your car!"

I gave it one star because no stars was not an option. Our soccer team had to stay at this hotel (they have a list of required hotels to choose from). I love reviews to boost good business but there is a time and a place for a bad review and this is it. This hotel is not safe. Just our team alone dealt with a tv that didn't work, toilet that didn't work, key cards that continually were deactivated, mold, black fly infestation, it was crazy. I hadn't slept in a full sized bed for about 25 years and shared it too. Not ideal. The entire hotel smells like a nursing home. Our teammates on the 4th floor had the mold and flies. Turns out the 4th floor hadn't been used in a long time and had just been opened up for use. Lucky them. There was ONE elevator for the entire hotel, the other was out of order (and behind on inspection). The front desk girls were not friendly at all, first impressions matter and it wasn't good. The doors to the stairwells were SO hard to open. Kind of scary to think of a kid trying to get out in an emergency, they wouldn't be able to open them because even us adults had a hard time. The poor maintenance man had his hands full here. On the bright side, we had coupons for the breakfast (do not pay for it) and the man and woman doing the food and beverages every morning were so kind and helpful. Keep your health, family and money safe, do not stay here.

"Avoid this Gurnee hotel "

Avoid this hotel. Location is advertised as having a restaurant and lounge. It's true it *has one there but not open and functioning, breakfast staff are rude and $12 for the breakfast is terrible. Plenty of other places to stay at. Fix walls, fix door handles, fix and clean grimy room carpets, fix air conditioner/heater, retrain employees for customer interactions(breakfast staff were impolite), pool hours only till 9?, restaurant and lounge is advertised as being at this hotel, but is actually not open, zero communication from staff on why there was a 9am fire alarm Sunday(pretty sure it was because someone was smoking dope in their room, we could smell it all weekend in the halls!), exterior door handle was broken, a suite with only double beds is sort of a joke in my opinion.
