"The Amazing Grand Canyon "Wind Dancer" Tour"

My sister and I began a “grand circle” trip around the Grand Canyon and other sites around in Colorado and Utah with a tour with Maverick Helicopters. We did the “Grand Canyon Wind Dancer Tour” which takes you over many sites on the way to the west rim of the Canyon and back. Once we got to the Grand Canyon, we stopped at a private site they have above the Colorado River to enjoy champagne and snacks. Needless to say, the views throughout the trip were beautiful and amazing but what made this such a wonderful trip was our pilot, Christian. From the very well-done safety briefing before we took off through the narrative he provided throughout the voyage, and answering all of the questions we and the other passengers had, he was just terrific. He was fun and so informative about what we were seeing and what it was like piloting a helicopter in this area. One other fun thing he did was to create a playlist of songs that we heard over our microphones when no one was talking, and he had great taste in songs – and all generations in the group loved them 😉! Christian also made sure each of the 5 of us who were on the tour got a seat up front for part of the time. We made two stops – one for the Canyon break and one to refill the copter at a site midway between the Canyon and Las Vegas. It turns out that Maverick has established their own refueling site which is a much cheaper approach for sure. We’d never done something like this, so it was a new experience, but the helicopter they use is a good one, with no bad viewing seats. We would definitely recommend Maverick Helicopters for this type of experience. Their process for booking, handling changes and contacting us before the tour and how it works once you get to their departure site is great. Re: parking, one thing I noticed is that at the Las Vegas site there didn’t appear to be too much parking available, so keep that in mind.
