"Maui Hana Sky-Trek Half-Day Tour"
July 2016
This was our first trip to Hawaii and our first ride on a helicopter. My husband and I brought our 14-year-old and 12-year-old boys, and the trip was perfect from start to finish. The helicopter ride was probably the biggest hit, but we had a very enthusiastic driver for the second leg of the tour who pointed out local plants, led us into small caves, took our family photos, and even found a waterfall for our boys to jump off after we told her it was something they really wanted to try -- even the couple with us that we had just met were yelling in excitement when they jumped. Truly memorable experience that we'll cherish forever.

We spent 15 days on 3 islands on our Hawaiian vacation at the end of May and beginning of June, 2019. Our lastThe full day in Maui, my wife scheduled us for this excursion. Up to this point, this vacation would be quite difficult to top and our family would’ve probably been content had it ended the day before. The excitement in all of us leading up to this day was palpable throughout our vacation as we all could not wait for this day to come. We arrived at Blue Hawaiian’s heliport and their staff were quite welcoming and made us feel at ease as none of us had been in a helicopter before. Everything was well paced leading up to boarding our flight. Hugo was our pilot/guide and he was as professional as they come. He was extremely engaging, affable and knowledgeable. I’m sure all of their pilots/guides are as such but we felt we were lucky to get him for our flight. The sights we saw were absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to get back to fly Blue Hawaiian again! Once we touched down in Hana, he graciously took photos of us in front of the helicopter and indulged me in taking a family selfie with us before introducing us to Scott Ferguson, our Temptation Tours Road from Hana driver/guide. Right out of the gate, Scotty was engaging and very informative as he ran down the plans for our time with him. Our comfort and satisfaction were top of mind from the moment we pulled away from the Hana airport until we said our ”until we meet agains”! Nothing makes an excursion a 5 star excursion more so than the person running the show. Scotty provided the perfect mix of information and humor. He does, however, need to work on his PhD 😂 (You’re welcome, Scotty). Aside from the spectacular places we stopped to get photos and videos, we felt like Scotty would be cool just to sit by the shore with and have a beverage. I’m still impressed by his iPhone photo/video knowledge. We learned a few tricks we’d not known. Don’t hesitate to book this excursion and either request or hope you get these two guys. You’ll have one of, if not the best, days of your vacation. Guaranteed!

If you’re looking for a safe and knowledgeable driver in a comfortable vehicle, you’ve got it with this company. We were very grateful for our driver’s experience. The breakfast and lunch picnics were elegant and more delicious than we expected. It’s important to know that you will not be choosing your stops with this company, however, so if you have your heart set on certain places to stop on the road to Hana, then you may want to look around.

Road to Hana - Outstanding day trip. Our guide Keith was amazing. He provided historical context and his knowledge of plants and trees was amazing. We were with a group of six others. Everyone was great to travel with. Keith’s driving was exceptional. The road is full of curves with a lot of tourist driving that should not have been driving on the Road to Hana. He kept us out of harms way. We started with breakfast at Cafe Mambo in Paia. Great lunch at The Preserve in Hana.

Did the Hana Sky Trek tour on the later am Helicopter to Hana then road tour back itinerary. First off, the company called me after I booked because one traveler was over 250lb and We had paid an extra surcharge. But because I also asked if he’d fit at 6’5, they called to ask his build - since he only needed a regular seat they refunded the surcharge. This tells you a lot. The flight was smooth and enjoyable. You’ll want more. Then we drove the Hana Highway with Tony. He is a great, fun, and knowledgeable guide who sets an easygoing tone. He’s also flexible. The van was not quite as deluxe as pictured but still roomy and comfortable. And a huge plus - Tony knows the road he literally avoided 2 wrecks from other careless or less experienced drivers. Definitely recommend.
