"Fun for the kids, but needs improvement!"

We had a mixed experience at Great Wolf Lodge. There were definitely some highlights, but also a few frustrating issues that are worth noting. On the positive side, the room was great—clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed for our stay. The kids had an absolute blast, and we really appreciated that there was so much to do on-site that we never even had to leave the resort. MagiQuest was a huge hit and kept everyone entertained for hours, which was a big win. That said, there were several downsides that impacted our overall experience. The buffet breakfast was especially disappointing. For the price, we expected much better quality—food was lukewarm at best and just didn’t feel worth the cost. After checking in, there was little to no direction provided about the resort—we actually found ourselves relying more on other guests than employees just to figure things out, which shouldn’t be the case. Unfortunately, my son also developed a pretty bad skin rash on his legs during our stay, and we’re still not sure what caused it. That was definitely concerning. On top of that, we tried calling the front desk/operator multiple times and never got an answer, which was frustrating when we needed assistance. Overall, it’s a fun place for kids and has a lot of potential, but there are some clear areas that need improvement—especially considering the price point.

"Spring Break Trip. First Time Visit"

Friendly staff. Proactive in addressing issues. Example, my room wasnt ready until after 5pm, the staff proactively comp'd my late check out. The food was good, but I would save money by bringing in snacks, etc in the future. The water park part was great. The drinks were different prices depending on the bartender/day. The restaurant offered to comp the appetizers because of the wait, but that didnt happen. They were so busy I didnt want to bother them so I just paid it. Also parking was charged to the room for each day, but when you leave, you have to pay to exit the parking lot so I ended up paying for parking twice. I didnt notice it until just now in the app. I may have overlooked how that works, but I felt it was worth mentioning. The kids had a ball.

"The Best!!"

As soon as we checked in there was a power outage. Once they got everyone out of the water they started doing activities in the lobby and handing out water and ice cream and popcorn and making the best of the situation. Once the power was back on we had a blast! The staff was so very nice and helpful. The room we booked was clean and just wonderful all around. Thank you Great Wolf Lodge of Concord NC!!

"Was fun.. until the power went out"

We booked one night, but only intended to come for the day on our way through town on a road trip. It was cheaper to book a room than to buy four day passes. We were having a good time in the water park.. until the power went out. While I know this was not the fault of GWL, it meant we had a pretty expensive pit stop for only two hours in the water park. After several hours, the power returned, but we had already departed since we did not plan on staying the night. It would be nice for GWL to offer to refund a portion of the price for guests that were there during the outage. All restaurants and activities were closed. They stated the park would stay open a bit later that night to make up for the outage, but that only is helpful for guests that were still there that evening. Like I stated, I recognize the outage was not the fault of GWL, but the compensation for the inconvenience and for services unable to be rendered could have been more generous. The room that we had intended to use to shower (but were unable to due to the outage) appeared clean and quiet.

"Excellent Stay"

I attended a conference last weekend and everything was phenomenal! Our AC in our room did not work and as soon as we called the front desk, they sent the nicest maintenance man to our room and it was fixed within 5 mins. Only complaint is that on Saturday, the watermark was uncomfortably full! But that is to be expected. Breakfast buffet was outstanding and the pizza was great too!
