"Waist of money"

Went on thanksgiving, Worst luau we have been to. Paid extra for premium seating. Our table was on the third row furthest table on the side no where near the middle. It was very difficult to see the entertainment. Tables near the middle in regular seating had a much better view. Our table was too wide for our family of eight we couldn’t even talk to family members across the table. Turkey was dry and shredded. A couple members of our group were late coming and when we asked if they could receive the necklaces we were given they said they were out

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with the hospitality of Aloha by receiving a seashell lai! Mary was our server and very kind and attentive. We started with a Mai Tai, enjoyed lawn games and snacks. Once the show started we were entertained with dancing, delicious food and the highlight of the show was the fire dancer. You get to watch the beautiful sunset while drinking pina coladas! We didn’t pay for premium seating and had no trouble seeing. We did add on the lobster and I would highly recommend!

"Not worth the money. Food poor and entertainment only ok."

Disappointed. Could have been a LOT better for the price. $275 each would have been much better spent at Nobu in the hotel. Food was awful, undercooked (raw) pork and awful tasting. Along with some bland rice and over cooked pasta. I can cook better and I’m a crap cook! We were really hoping for an orchid lay but were given sea shell lays.. which was disappointing. The Lū’au next door gives orchid lays! Entertainment was ok, not bad, but nothing exciting. Basically background entertainment. Had we known, we wouldn’t have booked and have just spent the money at Nobu which would have been a much better evening!

"Skip this Luau, it’s overpriced and boring!"

Disappointing and Overpriced – Skip It Currently sitting in the middle of the luau at the Grand Wailea and counting the minutes until it’s over. At $275 per person, this was a huge letdown. The food is absolutely terrible—bland, and not worth a fraction of the price. The show is slow and boring, nothing engaging or memorable. The only good part was the sunset, which we already get to enjoy daily since we’re staying on the property. Save your money and find a better luau experience elsewhere. I do not recommend this one.

Overall, I would just say "meh" It was okay but not wonderful. The first letdown was receiving puka shell necklaces instead of leis. Our friends went to a luau just up the road and got beautiful orchid leis. The sunset was to our back so we could either watch the show or the beautiful setting sun over the Pacific. The food was abundant but not great. While it was being served, the myna birds were allowed to land on and sample the food. We were served sesame chicken, poke, rice, mahi, undercooked beef, and kalua pork. The best thing on the table was the mac salad. It was delicious! The show was okay but it was hard to hear the narrator. For $300pp I expected more. We were staying nearby, luckily, because parking was for hotel guests only so we had to walk.
