"Amazing!"
April 2019
We got a King size suite and it was very clean and spacious. The staffing was immaculate and went above and beyond to help with what they could. Very relaxing environment and peaceful. We even got to know our cleaning staff and they were very friendly and respectful. It is a nice location you stay out of the business but within walking distance of everything. The pool was really nice and they even let us park our trailer as well, we will be coming back.

Tip: Check-in is at 4pm, and they are so busy that there wasn't a way for them to check in early. If you are going to arrive early go in and get a parking pass from them and just make an evening of walking until check-in much easier.

"Gatlinburg in July"
July 2018
We loved Gatlinburg! We loved the mountains, the shops, the hikes and the rides. The greatest thing is you can pick and choose what you want to do, as opposed to an amusement park where you cannot come and go for a few days. The Glenstone Lodge was great and we took full advantage of both pools. We even saw a bear when we were relaxing outside on our balcony. It was very relaxing with the stream beside the hotel and the cicadas singing in the trees. We are making plans to go back several times in the years to come.

Tip: Bring your walking shoes, there are many shops in which you walk to. There are very low cost trollies that will take you almost anywhere in town if you do not want to walk.

"Amazing Vacation Amazing Place!"
June 2016
This was our second stay at Glenstone Lodge and I must say they are very consistent. The room was clean and everything worked as it should, wifi was nice and didn't drop out or lag. It can get a little hot in the indoor pool area but it was really, nice with the waterfalls, and the deep section is separate from the shallower section. The water I side is very warm for those that do not like cold pools, however the outdoor pool was much cooler if you like that also. The staff were polite and handled all our questions even when we locked ourself out of our room. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you have children.

"Very pleasant stay"
April 2015
I took my daughter & two grandchildren, ages 6 & 8, for a 2 day stay @ Glenstone Lodge. It was awesome! Kids loved the indoor pool; queen suite was quiet (mountain view), spacious, comfortable, & clean. Staff (all of them!) were friendly & helpful! Breakfast buffet had many selections, convenient & reasonably priced. Internet was not working consistently.

Tip: Historic Trail is a couple blocks off the main drag (Parkway) in Gatlinburg. Parkway traffic was horrible so getting to the hotel takes a while.

I’ll keep this to useful information: - Glenstone is within awesome walking distance to the main drag in Gatlinburg, saving a ton on parking or the inconvenience of waiting for the trolley - Overall the hotel is clean and the housekeeping staff did a stellar job on our room. However, there are a lot of giveaways that this is an older hotel, even though they’ve done some cosmetic updates. For example, the pool area looks great in pictures, and my kids had a great time swimming, but in the hot tub you can look underneath part of the upper pool and see the plaster chipped away, rebar poles, and browning rust spots. - We didn’t have the best room - Looking back, we should have asked for a different one, but my midwestern politeness didn’t want to inconvenience anyone. So this is just an FYI for future bookers: When we put in the reservation, we asked for a room away from the pool (thank you previous reviewers for warning us about the humidity and noise) and on an upper floor to help with noise. We were away from the pool, but we were on the first floor on one of the outdoor, motel-style rooms. It didn’t seem like a big deal at first, especially since it was so convenient to get to our car. Thankfully we had our sound machine because we had noisy neighbors and a lot of foot traffic past our room. Also, the garbage truck came by every morning at 5:00am. So if you’re a light sleeper ask for an upper room. - We saved a lot of money buying groceries and using the fridge and microwave. The fridge did freeze a lot of our stuff so we had to keep turning it down. Thankfully the microwave just thawed it right out! That’s really it. We spent a lot of time out of the hotel hiking the Smoky Mtn Trails and walking downtown, so it worked as a place to sleep. Unfortunately we found it underwhelming overall.

My wife and I just got back from staying at the Glenstone Lodge. We completely enjoyed our stay. I have read the reviews on this lodge and seen what others have said. I wasn’t sure what to expect. We had a great stay. Friendly and courteous staff at the front desk. Wonderful staff at the breakfast buffet. Yes, you pay for the breakfast; however I thought it was good food for the price and excellent service. On the weekend they had a friendly man helping to cook eggs however you want them, or make a fresh waffle. You receive table service for any drink you want and eat as much as you want. We ate at a local breakfast place one day and went back to the Glenstone after that. I enjoyed the food and service at Glenstone. The woman at the front remembered us too which was a nice touch. The room. This hotel is an older hotel, but they have worked to refurbish their rooms. I feel like location of your room makes a big difference in your stay here. I feel like we had the best room in the hotel. A balcony room on the top floor. The only noise issues we had was people slamming doors, but that happens anywhere and was not really a problem. The room was clean, and modern. The bed was fine. The bathroom is small, but that was all right for our standards. The room was a nice size. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony a lot. There is a ice machine nearby, and a fridge in the room. The coffee maker worked fine and we used that everyday. The room was comfortable and clean. The cleaning staff were good. Very nice people. We were sure to be out by 9:30 or so each day to allow them to get in the room. We had no issues at all with the cleaning staff. Kudos to them. I’m trying to address other review concerns. The elevator is a little old and slow, and there is only one. We took advantage of the exercise and always took the stairs. After all the good food in Gatlinburg we liked the exercise. If you need an elevator you will probably have to wait a lot. We did not use the pool. There were people there and they looked like they were having a good time. It looked to be a nice pool. The patio may need an update for someone who spends a lot of time out there, but we didn’t, so it didn’t bother us. Overall, We recommend the Glenstone Lodge for their location, staff, breakfast, and price. This is an older location, but we would stay again and we had a wonderful stay.

We were here the last couple days in April. Wonderful quiet time of year here. John at the front desk was very nice and helpful. We were within walking distance to restaurants but I had ankle surgery a few months ago so walking up hill on the way back wasn't pleasant. This hotel is clean and has comfortable beds. You have to pay for the breakfast that is normally free at other places. But it tastes good. There isn't coffee available in the lobby ☹️. Our 5th floor room over looked the parking lot but also had mountain views from the belcony. We would stay here again.

The room clean and the staff was really friendly. The bathroom needed some work as the toilet kept runny and it looked like at one time there was a leak. Pool was cold and really needed work!! You can see it is a older hotel that just needs a facelift. Location was good.

Lets preface this by me staying here way back in 1997 when I was in high school. It was freaking awesome. A true lodge style experience like you would see in an international film from the same time frame, ski lodgish..... Fast forward 32 years and lets say it is just like my childhood, tired and as not as I remember it. * easy booking online, no issues * Front desk experience was stellar, kudos to John. Most friendly and very pleasant to deal with. * the room, it was facing the indoor pool, which was ok. I would rather have that view than some of the other outside rooms. The outside rooms are like the old motels of the 70's with the doors facing outside with a small concrete walk way. * The room was ok, it was clean well made up. It was old not in a really bad way as in dilapidated, but just worn. I have attached pics. My only real concern was the exhaust vent in the bathroom. It was super nasty, Good thing it was pulling air out of the room and not in. There is a small louvered window above the door I am not sure what it was used for, but it would not shut all the way so the pool noise was kinda loud, They shut off the waterfall at the pool at 11 pm so it really quiets down after that. * the pool is the same as I remembered it 32 years ago, minus the slide that used to go through the waterfall. They have rocked it up and no longer is used. The indoor carpet around the pool is loose and tearing up around the edges, the indoor putting green is used for storage now, the chairs really need replacing. *The breakfast buffet is not comped, it is $9.95 for standard continental breakfast plus made to order omelets. Not many people seemed to take advantage of it, not worth the money in my opinion when there are so many breakfast places in Gatlinburg that are much better. * check out was just as smooth as the check in. The Glenstone Lodge could be on top again with a small investment/update. This was one of the premier places to stay in Gatlinburg, I would love to see an update but keep the nostalgia character that it has. Conclusion- would this be my first choice again? Probably not. Would this be my last choice? Definitely not, If you are looking for clean, and a friendly staff you would be good here, If you are looking for the modern new hotel, this is not your place
