So at first I was skeptical when I made this purchase because I thought it would be an additional cost to choosing this hotel. However, there was no hidden fees. The breakfast at the hotel was amazing! What also made it even better was that this hotel had a shuttle bus to go to Universal Studios, which was really helpful! The 2 Queen-sized beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The hotel itself was even close to Icon Orlando 360 and the lights from the Ferris Wheel are not disturbing. I only booked for 3 nights but would have loved to book another night.

Was satisfied somewhat with the accommodations but was disappointed in the quality of parking and also our room. Parking was an absolute nightmare. We drove around for at least 10 min and got lucky when someone pulled out, vacating a spot for us.
When we entered our room, it had a really strong musty odor. It smelled as if someone had just sprayed some sort of air freshener to hide it, but it was still pretty rough. I called the front desk in hopes to get moved to a different room but they were booked solid and it was 10 PM and we had just spent the entire day at Legoland in 94 degree heat. We booked the room thru ReserveOrlando.com who advises you to check out immediately if your accommodations aren't up to par, but it was 10 PM and we were all exhausted, so we just dealt with it. Breakfast was good, the shuttle service to Universal was nice, but we will look elsewhere next year when we return.

"Nothing to brag about"
August 2015
This hotel wasn't bad BUT it definitely could've been better. They need to update few things. A lot of people were saying nothing but good things about them but I didn't see what the hype was about. Nothing bad to say but nothing good to say really either :-/

The room temp was hard to control and we feel we got a cold from the unit. Possible mold spores? I lost my voice and my spouse got very congested. We woke with sore throats each morning. The breakfasts were very good.

"BEWARE: parking fee for no parking"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

Good: The front desk was able to arrange for a 12PM early check in. Bad: - The room was clean but had no USB ports and had that faint moldy smell of a property that has gone too long without renovation in a humid climate. - There is about a quarter mile walk to get to International Drive. Ugly: They attempted to charge me a Parking fee even though I had no car. This was not reflected in my reservation information through Qantas, nor in their front page. The attendant at the front desk had to navigate to a side page to find an ambiguous sentence about charging parking for every room, and he thought that that was a normal way of doing business. If it is a fee charged for every room it should be part of the base rate. Overall the parking fee made me feel deceived and unwelcome by Marriott.

"Decent hotel, but needs some improvements"

I default to Marriott Hotels, and will always try to find one even if I have to drive a little. Fairfield Inns are usually consistent high quality hotels, but this one needs some work. I have stayed at this exact Orlando location 3 times and i am inclined to try a different hotel next time. They recently changed to Valet parking only. I suspect to address non-guests using their parking, however it means you now pay $7 a day and you feel obligated to tip the valet, so this adds up. Not great for budget minded folks including business travelers or families trying to make the most of their vacation. Myself and several other guests were annoyed at the LOUD HVAC system. Each room has its own, but they are noisy. Light sleepers beware. The breakfast is included but offerings are limited. It is decent quality, but could use a little change if staying several days or longer. Some of the seating in the dining area are worn and cracked. The rest of the hotel is decent. Clean and maintained ok. The housekeeping staff were thorough each time I stayed. The Residence Inn and Castle Hotel, both under the Marriott brand are better and earn higher marks.

"Valet parking scam"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed October 10, 2019 NEW
My wife, brother and spouse stayed here last month to attend our brother in law's funeral. We flew into Orlando, rented a car and drove to this hotel where we had reservations for 2 rooms. We arrived at the hotel where a large empty parking lot greeted us with all the parking spaces blocked by orange cones. A sign directed us to a valet desk. The valet parked our car for us. My brother and his spouse checked in first. The clerk asked to have their credit card "for the valet charge"--$7.00 plus tax per night. They had no choice but to comply. When my wife and I checked in, the clerk insisted on charging our card for the valet charge also. We protested, saying we came in the same car my bro drove. The clerk handed us an official memo saying that the fee was charged per room, not per car, regardless of whether you drove to the hotel or was driven by someone else. When checking out the clerk asked how our stay was. I said, "Great except for having to pay for a valet and parking when we didn't even have a car!" His insulting response, "I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience." I will never stay at a Fairfield/Marriott again, and suggest other travelers not feed these greedy scammers either!
