"Not the worst, not the best Hilton"

We stayed here 2 nights. I am a frequent Gold Hilton member and have stayed at many of the Hilton properties in the Disney Springs and Orlando area. We did notice the parking fee right away. $25/day on top of the room rate. We had a spacious 2 queen bed suite with a microwave, mini fridge and sink. And a living room with a tv and couch. It was plenty of room for us and comfortable. There were some things missing, no conditioner in the room so we had to ask housekeeping. No one in housekeeping speaks English. Then we had an issue with out a/c. It kept turning on and off every 1:40 seconds. Yes we timed it. It kept my Mom who was with me awake until she finally turned it on fan just to keep it running so she could sleep. When we mentioned it at the front desk, they were trying to explain that it was an older hotel that had been renovated. And they offered to have a maintenance man come to look at it. So we said yes and they called him. When he came he also didn't understand or speak English, so we had to try to explain the best we could what it was doing. But we don't think he did anything to try to fix it. And he left. It kept doing the same thing until we decided to just turn it off so we could sleep in quiet. I'm appreciative of the effort and the cleanliness of the resort, but it seemed like there wasn't enough staff at the front desk, or in the bar and grill area. Just one lady every night running around trying to do it all herself. They need more staff. And a better way to communicate with staff to make sure guests are accommodated. Other than that it was nice. But I'll probably choose a different Hilton next time we stay here.

"Great location"

The location is great, with a free bus to Disney parks that is easy to reserve. It is walkable to Disney Springs, but no bus will take you there. The hotel was a bit of a disappointment and seemed short of staff. I called in and requested a 1st-floor room as we were traveling with a disabled person, and they said no problem, but when we checked in, they said they had no first-floor rooms available. We also had Hilton Diamond status, and no upgrade was given. The Front desk always seemed to have a line and only one or two people attending during busy periods. The breakfast buffet was decent, with an excellent staff. However, dinner at the Evergreen Lounge was the only option and was lacking as you often couldn't even find a staff member at the bar to take your order and had to go to the front desk to figure out what was going on and if the staff was on break. I was with a toddler, and the splash pad was not working. There was no sign to inform you of the outage. It's not fun to have an annoyed toddler who just wants to play on the splash pad. The tennis courts were not maintained well, and the grounds around the tennis court were filled with weeds. The suites were recently renovated and in good shape. However, we hated the barn sliding without a lock into the bedroom. With a toddler, the set-up was not ideal. Pet friendly hotel with a fee, also resort fee and parking charge. As much as our experience was mediocre, we would stay again as the best option on Disney property for a suite and is pet friendly. It could be a gem with better management, staffing, and grounds upkeep.

"Walk to Disney Springs"

We wanted to go to Disney Springs to see the holiday trees. If the hotel is not sold out the night before, they waive the $25 parking fee. We stayed in room 215, the view was of the roof, but who cares. The room was really spacious with two queen beds. You can easily walk to Disney Springs. Also, free coffee in the lobby.

"Closets are places to HANG clothes!"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5
Reviewed October 31, 2024
This is the 2nd time I've stayed here and it will probably be my last. Every normal hotel on the planet provides a place to HANG clothing. Well, not Doubletree by Hilton near Disney Springs! It's the 2nd time I got a room with NO rod in the closet. Upon inquiring, I was informed that rooms with a single queen bed do not have rods in the closet. It's as though people who sleep in a single queen bed are thought to have no such requirement. At this hotel, you cannot hang clothes in a room with a single queen bed. This is the craziest thing I've ever been told by a hotel. It's not normal and it's not acceptable. It was probably an error when they refurbished and management is just too cheap to have the rods installed. I cannot think of a reason why closet rods would have been deliberately omitted. Other amenities, they have. Shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer, soap, coffee maker, ironing board - probably because all those clothes you could not HANG are now wrinkled! - but no closet rod. Hey Hilton - FIX IT! It's just not normal. Just spring for the closet rods! PS - the staff here are outstanding. They are not the problem. Hilton is the problem!

"Surprisingly Wonderful All Around"

Main reason we decided to give this hotel a try, it's a Hilton with transportation to the Disney parks. The moment we walked into the property, it smelt clean and fresh. We requesting connecting rooms since we were traveling as a large family and that was granted. Our suite was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The suite had a cute dining table and a small refrigerator. The decor had a nice coastal flair with a few modern touches. Loved it! Truly appreciated the daily housekeeping, thank you! We heard no highway noise which was wonderful as we had a few light sleepers in the bunch. There is a restaurant on site along with a bar. Very good. In the morning, they offer complimentary coffee. The outside pool area was nice and relaxing, enjoyed the splash pad as well. Only wish the hotel offered life jackets for the little ones, especially since the pool is deep with no zero entry. The buses picked us up right at the side door of the hotel. Ran on time, drivers were helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel for it's location, cleanliness and transportation service.
