"Worst Hotel Experience Ever – Overcharged Thousands, Zero Accountability"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed June 28, 2025 NEW
This was by far one of the most stressful travel experiences I've ever had. We booked two rooms at DoubleTree Suites through Booking.com with a confirmed total of almost $800ish for a three-night stay. We even chose the “pay at property” option. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. The DAY we were driving 12 hours from our hometown to California, I discovered the hotel charged my credit card almost $1,400—not once, but THREE TIMES. We hadn’t even checked in yet. We spent hours on the phone while on the road, going back and forth between Booking.com and the hotel trying to figure out who was responsible. It was stressful, chaotic, and completely ruined the start of our trip. Only after enough pushing did a manager named Stephanie finally agree we would only be charged the original amount. A staff member named Paola also helped with that—credit where it’s due. BUT it didn’t end there. Once we got back home, we found out we were charged AGAIN—another $1,400+ on top of what we had already been charged. No explanation, no warning, no apology. The lack of accountability and communication was shocking for a DoubleTree property. We expected professional service and got a financial nightmare. Never again.

"Hotel has BED BUGS"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

I would give a negative five if I could. Beware. Hotel has BED BUGS. I booked 5 nights. Woke up with bites all over on night 2. I took the bed apart and found bed bugs. I asked for a new room and was given one. I took the bed apart in the second room just to find that my second room also had a bed bugs. I checked out. The hotel refused to refund my money for the days I did not stay. I have photo proof but the hotel is denying it DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Beware. Beware. Beware. See photo evidence.

"Breakfast Scam"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5
Reviewed June 13, 2025 NEW
We were extremely disappointed with our stay, mainly due to what felt like a deliberate scam at breakfast. When we checked into the hotel we made sure to ask if the breakfast was free and the gentleman working the front desk said yes and pointed us in the direction of where breakfast would be in the morning. However, when we went down to eat, we were not informed of any additional charges. We simply helped ourselves, assuming it was part of the stay — only to be presented with a surprise bill when trying to leave the breakfast area. Which they charged us $50 for two people to eat at a generic buffet with unclean dishes and silverware. I Would not recommend staying here unless you're okay with unexpected charges and poor communication. There are plenty of other hotels that are more transparent and treat their guests with basic respect!

"Good hotel, but long walk to Disneyland"
TripAdvisor user rating 4.0 out of 5
Reviewed April 21, 2025
This stay was one night over Easter weekend. I was going to Disneyland and searched for a low rate to spend the night instead of driving home after a day at the park. Through the Hilton website I found a rate of $72 for a Sunday night in a King room. The room was small, but it worked for one night. The room was always comfortable though keep in mind that there is a fan that continuously runs since the rooms are sealed. That doesn't bother me, but it might if you like quiet. The decor is dated and dark with one window, mine was facing South. The bed was comfortable, though a little soft for my back. The television is small compared to what is provided today in most hotels, probably a 24" screen. I watch my entertainment on my laptop because I stream all my programming. The standard WiFi worked great for this, no delay. There was a small refrigerator, but it hadn't been cleaned well as it smelled when I opened it. The water container with a straw that I used also had a bad taste the next morning after being the refrigerator. The bathroom was large. I didn't use the shower, but it was tub that one would step into. The toilet needed attention. It didn't flush very well, often slow and barely draining out the water. Then it would have a very annoying whistle, probably caused by filling the tank. It was loud and came through the closed door. I did let the front desk know of the problem when I checked out. The hotel charges $33 for parking, even though their signs at the gates still state that parking is $29. Of course, it is a rip off just because it is near Disneyland. Since I am an Magic Key holder I drove to park at Disneyland. The Doubletree is too far to walk to Disneyland, but there is a stop the area transit on Harbor in front of the hotel. I didn't use any of the food places or pool, that is on the second floor, as it was a one-night stay. The staff were friendly. Just a warning about ice machine it is at the far end of the hotel, so if you have a east end room, you are going to have to walk a distance to get some ice. Not sure it would be worth it at twice the price, but the hotel is clean and huge! At the price I got, this was a good stay.
