"Good hotel, but long walk to Disneyland"

This stay was one night over Easter weekend. I was going to Disneyland and searched for a low rate to spend the night instead of driving home after a day at the park. Through the Hilton website I found a rate of $72 for a Sunday night in a King room. The room was small, but it worked for one night. The room was always comfortable though keep in mind that there is a fan that continuously runs since the rooms are sealed. That doesn't bother me, but it might if you like quiet. The decor is dated and dark with one window, mine was facing South. The bed was comfortable, though a little soft for my back. The television is small compared to what is provided today in most hotels, probably a 24" screen. I watch my entertainment on my laptop because I stream all my programming. The standard WiFi worked great for this, no delay. There was a small refrigerator, but it hadn't been cleaned well as it smelled when I opened it. The water container with a straw that I used also had a bad taste the next morning after being the refrigerator. The bathroom was large. I didn't use the shower, but it was tub that one would step into. The toilet needed attention. It didn't flush very well, often slow and barely draining out the water. Then it would have a very annoying whistle, probably caused by filling the tank. It was loud and came through the closed door. I did let the front desk know of the problem when I checked out. The hotel charges $33 for parking, even though their signs at the gates still state that parking is $29. Of course, it is a rip off just because it is near Disneyland. Since I am an Magic Key holder I drove to park at Disneyland. The Doubletree is too far to walk to Disneyland, but there is a stop the area transit on Harbor in front of the hotel. I didn't use any of the food places or pool, that is on the second floor, as it was a one-night stay. The staff were friendly. Just a warning about ice machine it is at the far end of the hotel, so if you have a east end room, you are going to have to walk a distance to get some ice. Not sure it would be worth it at twice the price, but the hotel is clean and huge! At the price I got, this was a good stay.

"A little dated, but still a great hotel"

We've stayed here numerous times when we visit Disneyland and the hotel has never disappointed. The room service is very delicious if you decide to order from them and the restaurant downstairs is very good also. The room is a little dated, but still clean and nice. I think I saw a sign that they were going to start renovating the rooms this year (not sure, though). If you want to walk to Disneyland, it will probably take you about 15 to 20 minutes or you can just get a rideshare. There is also a Denny's across the street and numerous fast food and restaurants in the area. The bed and pillows were wonderful (super comfortable). One thing I find amusing is how slow the elevators are. If you need to wash clothes, there are washer and dryers on the fifth and seventh floor (I think). It's an enjoyable place to stay and well worth it and will definitely stay there again if we visit Disneyland. We did not have a car, but there is a large parking lot to park your car (for a fee, of course).

"Really needs a makeover - and the bloody towel was my final straw"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5

Stayed in connection with a conference at the convention center. Had seen some so-so reviews but figured they were anomalies. Nope. I either got unlucky with every issue listed in reviews, or the place really really needs a makeover. Let me start by saying the staff was polite, professional, and responsive. The place is just worn down. Here's what I encountered: * The safe just stopped working, had to have it reset * The mini fridge was not cold when I checked in. Gave it a couple of hours with some water bottles in it and no better. Put in a call and was told it would be taken care of. Came back several hours later with some diary products and discovered it was still warm. Called again, guy came up and said it wasn't cooling and replaced it. Ended up with a new fridge but had to throw out the stuff that sat for hours at room temp. * The TV remote would occasionally stop working. Tech looked at it, the answer was that I had to periodically unplug the TV and plug it back in for the remote to work. * The shower was a bathtub with a curtain. It sagged in the center so it never really drained. When you got in it was cold water leftover from house cleaning. All of those were annoying. What made me give it 2 stars was the towel. I pulled a "clean" towel off the rack as I got out of the shower and suddenly noticed lots of blood on it. At first I thought I was bleeding. I then realized it was dried but still bright enough to be recent. How they processed a towel like that and then hung it back up for a guest baffles me. There was a sign up that they were remodeling rooms. Good for them, but the towel did it for me. I'll never stay at this place again.

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Disneyland. Excellent suite, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Easy walking distance to Disneyland so we could leave the car parked for a couple of days. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice. Would definitely stay again.
