"A comfortable stay."

Decent business hotel. It’s never going to win awards for location and it’s not a 5 star hotel. But at the same time, I dint understand the previous negative reviews. It as in convenient location for business. The rooms are clean, comfortable and maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and hot. It’s not a sophisticated menu but it does the job. Nice stay overall.

"Nice overall but a couple of disappointments"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5

The location was the main reason we booked here - close to subway and restaurants and easy to get to from the 400. The price was reasonable. The lobby was very inviting and the staff were professional. Access to the public computer in the lobby was helpful for us. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. There was a small balcony with a sliding door which sounds nice. But because of the low outside temperature, the cold just blasted through the door making the floors uncomfortably cold. We went down to use the advertised hot tub. The water was lukewarm and we learned the jets did not work - very disappointing. Please don't advertise that you have a hot tub when you don't. To make up for this, I thought I would have a nice hot bath in my room. The tub is one of those mini-tubs that is fine for bathing children but not for an adult. The drain plug did not work so I was not able to keep the water in anyway. We really just had a snack at the breakfast "bistro" but it was pleasant and the menu had a good selection.

"Worst Customer Service you'll even have!"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

Worst customer service I have ever had. I travel 1/4 of the year for business. I have never been treated this way before. The shift supervisor clearly does not like their job. The ignorance was unbelievable. Until they have a staff change, stay away from this property. I know I will!

"Not the Courtyard standard I am used to..."
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

This hotel clearly doesn't set a standard for any Courtyard that I have stayed at before. I booked a cash/points redemption room rate and upon check out my statement showed $0.00 as payment, yet I paid $95. I wasn't provided an invoice to track my expenses and also I did not receive any Marriott Bonvoy points for the paid portion on the room rate. No acknowledgement of loyalty either, in most all check in's that I have done in the past, the staff will always express their thanks for loyalty, not at this hotel. The bathroom in the room, is clearly in need of a wallpaper job, the white scattered marks, disgusting. If you are a platinum or higher Bonvoy member, don't expect breakfast to be included. It is available but you can pay for it. My sister stayed at the SpringHill Suites, about 2kms away, and breakfast was included at that hotel and they aren't Bonvoy members either. I will definitely look elsewhere when back in the area.

"Safety & Service Alert – Courtyard Marriott Toronto/Vaughan"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed August 04, 2025
I’m sharing this to raise awareness about a deeply distressing experience my family and I had during our recent stay at the Courtyard Marriott Toronto/Vaughan. We were trapped in an elevator for over an hour—with no air conditioning, no airflow, and children present. The emergency response was delayed, and we later learned that only the fire department was contacted initially, not the elevator technician. When the fire department couldn’t resolve the issue, we waited an additional 25 minutes for the technician to arrive. Even more upsetting: not a single staff member checked on us afterward. No apology. No concern. No acknowledgment. I’ve sent two emails to the General Manager requesting a full refund and expressing how traumatic this was for my children—who are still having nightmares. No response. This is not just about poor service—it’s about guest safety and accountability. Elevators that malfunction this severely should not be in operation. And when something goes wrong, guests deserve empathy and action. I hope Marriott takes this seriously and ensures no other family has to endure what we did. #Marriott #CourtyardMarriott #CustomerService #GuestSafety #DoBetter #TorontoHotels #Vaughan
