"Disappointing experience"

Despite being from Louisiana and visiting New Orleans many times, I never had the opportunity to visit The Court of Two Sisters. After reading the description of food offerings for their Sunday brunch, all sounded amazing and I was looking forward to our first visit. We arrived ahead of our reservation time and despite quite a few open tables, were instructed by a less than friendly hostess to wait in the bar area, and waited for another 15 minutes. Once seated, it was another 10 minutes before anyone approached our table. Once greeted, we visited the food lines and tasted a wide variety of items from the hot offerings. Our beverages arrived about 15 minutes after we returned to our table. Service was pathetic, and to put it bluntly, the food was just not any good. Some items were overcooked, and with the exception of the turtle soup, none of it seasoned. The highlight by far was the jazz trio playing while we dined. I would certainly advise anyone looking for a tasty brunch with good service to look elsewhere. I for one, will not return.

"Go and do NOT listen to local snobs."

I'm a teacher, and I was taking some adult chaperones and nine high school students to the French Quarter during a 4-day trip to Baton Rouge. COTS reached out to us via a restaurant website and said they could accommodate the group and sent us a menu, so I made reservations. I had been following a Facebook group called New Orleans Foodies for about a year, and nearly all the reviews from locals bashed COTS repeatedly. I'm born and raised in Louisiana and have lived here 50 years and spent about 10 in Baton Rouge, and I know good foods versus tourist traps. COTS was all a great experience, no matter what the local food snobs said. The loudest food snobs in South LA are the ones who really only want to get drunk and be obnoxious, and I knew better than to listen to them. At first, our waitress said they wouldn't be able to split the check, so I politely asked the manager if we could because I had students, and he not only said we could do anything we liked, he also replaced the waitress! Had no idea that would happen, but he took care of us like we were executives or something. All the food was great, the atmosphere was unbeatable, and the service was excellent and pretty fast for such a large group and lots of other diners.

The bright spot in our dining . We had several mediocre (but pricey) meals in NOLA, but this one was first-rate. Attentive staff, pleasant environment, and really good food.
