"A “gem”, especially if you like Railroad history."

Eclectic experience. Very clean room, that was twice the size of a regular hotel room. Only 18 rooms, total, in this old railroad station. Room overlooked the famous St. Louis Cemetery, with a skyline view of New Orleans. First floor is a train museum, cute gift shop, coffee bar that serves Irish coffees, fir breakfast, Cemetary tours booth, and other information for the tourists who get dropped off by the double-decker tour buses that stop out front. A 15 minute walk to Frenchman’s street for jazz,, and parts of the French Quarter. We tried out Backoftown coffee house, a block away, for breakfast of grits, crawfish quiche, and coffees, it was uncrowded, and delicious. The hotel was having issues with their wi-fi during our stay, so check-ins took a while, and they accidentally thought we had checked out two days early. It all worked out. Everyone on staff was so nice!! The “quiet neighbors” made it easy to get in an afternoon nap.

"Great loplace to stay while visiting New Orleans"

The room was big, comfortable, and very clean. The two women working on the first floor were so kind and helpful. The old cemetery was across the street. The hop- on/off bus parked right at the hotel. We walked around the French Quarter and loved being so close. The parking for our car was very close to the door. Perfect spot! Highly recommend! Did the cemetery and bus tours and enjoyed both.

"Historic, beautiful, and comfortable place to stay!"

This was a lovely and historic place to stay. Large room with an original brick wall, beautiful bathroom, and a very cool and informative mini-museum and gift shop on the first floor. Tequila, the person on duty for the majority of our stay, was so friendly and helpful with anything we needed or were curious about. We loved this place!

"Spacious room and limited food options"

Very large clean rooms. We were able to spread out. As others have mentioned it would have been great to have a table for eating and an extra shelf for placing items in the bathroom. Not a deal breaker. Slept great—hardly any noise. Convenient location for the cemetery tour and walking to FQ or taking bus to Marigny and Garden District. The front desk person is not as friendly as could be. Never got a good morning or hello which seems uncharacteristic given great hospitality of the city. The cafe has almost no food options and closes early so you need to plan ahead for snacks and breakfast. We walked to Wakin Bakin in FQ—highly recommend. The gas station across the street has zero healthy food options obviously. Overall a great stay for the price just need to prepare to walk about 10 minutes for food.
