"Convenient and comfortable"

Convenient location, eg easy walk to Beacon Hill. Parking must be booked online via Pi Alpha (garage is at a stone throw’s distance from QC). Refillable cooled and filtered water bottle stations on every floor, great (coffee) lounge next to lobby, Elephant & Castle restaurant serves as hotel restaurant and is accessible via hotel lounge. Furniture in the coffee lounge needs renewal, chairs are sagging. Rooms are small, view was mainly empty offices. Toiletries convenient (shampoo, conditioner, body lotion) but no body wash, surprising as nd illogical. Elevators need room key to function but the front desk doesn’t seem to keep a good eye on who actually accesses the lifts.

"Holding my prescription glasses hostage"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

I would not give this hotel one sliver of a circle. I have been inside submarines (in Groton, Connecticut) larger than this structure. This hotel is not for the claustrophobic. Someone who is large themselves would not make it down the hallway, or in the angled crack in the wall with two doors leading to two rooms. I’m serious, and I do not mean to be unkind. It is not for large people. We booked a room for two and found a cubbyhole that only permitted us to get onto the bed from one side because the other side was against the wall. I had to slither from my pillow down the length of the bed to get to the floor. As God is my witness. There were no amenities whatsoever, at all. I do not want to steer any readers with exaggerated or fictitious information so please believe me when I say you could do better in that submarine.. The bathroom situation was an insulting joke. There were two 1“ x 1“ by 1/4 inch “bars“ of soap about the size of a mint. There was a pump bottle of hand cream that randomly placed on the bathroom counter that had clearly been used long before we got there, same with the communal shower washes. Call me fussy, but the towels were so harsh. I could only pat myself dry, not wipe, especially being female. In my long life I’ve never experienced such abrasive towels. I guess it was better than walking around wet all day. My next observation that I wish to impart to you is that the hotel is smack in the middle of the financial district where they roll up the sidewalks after 5 PM. If you have a car, you can escape to a better neighborhood. For dining on site, however, you’re in luck. There is a darn good pub attached to the hotel. The food and wait staff I have to admit were really good— cheerful, helpful, experienced, so friendly, and dedicated to making people happy. Hats off to them. And now the kicker of all kickers, an assault to our dignity, such as we have never experienced and for which they stand to be sued: I left my prescription glasses there. It happens, and hotels of any value and stake n the travel world will send such you a thing back without question or delay. But to get my glasses back, I would have to fill out and email a FedEx form to them. I presume that will lead to their calling FedEx to send my glasses back. What were they going to send them in? These are expensive prescription glasses and frames, Ray-Ban to be exact. That’s not the point. I informed two front-desk people on separate phone calls that I did not have a printer. This is completely true and you’re welcome to tour my tiny apartment. I haven’t had a printer in four years but that’s not the point. They would not release my glasses without a form that I printed at home. I offered to send them a padded envelope addressed and stamped for them to put the glasses in and drop them in their interior mail slot. This was a solution amenable to everyone except Club Quarters. They refused and they are holding my glasses hostage because I don’t have a printer. I see only a legal solution to this because I’ve already been around the mulberry bush with them. They won’t let my glasses go because I don’t have a printer!!! I should not have to take a bus to a FedEx or Staples outlet to do this. These places are not near me and I am 68 years old and it’s making me near to having a stroke from this insanity. I am in New York City, and do not have any friends in Boston who could deal with this.. Perhaps there is an umbrella Boston tourism agency who will take my case.

"Cozy room in downtown Boston"

Comfortable but small room. Fit my needs and the best rate I could find for a hotel in the area for that weekend. Good location for downtown Boston. Great shower pressure. Nondescript lobby, but a pub is right next door. I liked that they offer central water dispensers on the floor with reusable bottles. Great touch to help the environment along.

The rooms are very cute and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, clean room and building. Looks like the carpeting in the building is new. The shower is fantastic and nice overhead rain shower head. The dining area is comfortable we enjoyed the new fancy coffee maker and always having access to fresh baked cookies and a nice tea selection was appreciated. The Back Bay are is a great area to stay in as well.
