"Worse Service Than Soviet Moscow Hotel Just Before the Fall of the USSR"

!!!!WARNING - DO NOT BOOK!!!!! Notice how many bad reviews the past few months. This place is on the downhill slide..... Service was the worst I ever experienced in travel to 56 different countries and all 50 states. Place was run down. Hotel is about as far as you can get from the attractions in Branson. They charge for everything including a resort fee when everything is closed and parking is 10 bucks even though this place is in the middle of nowhere. Ordered room service using their QR Code. After 40 minutes, I called the kitchen number on the phone but no answer. I called the front desk and they said they were not doing room service. Then we went down to the restaurant and was told they WERE doing room service but that it would be another hour before it was delivered. Decided on Buffet, but was told it would be a long wait even though there were plenty of open tables. Found out that it is because they CHARGE FOR DRINKS at a buffet, so need waiters for all the tables. Every other hotel has juice and coffee and water out on the buffet. But here they need to charge you $10 bucks a drink after tax and tip and need a waitress that you then have to give that tip after they belatedly deliver your drink after you finished your food. In most of the areas, the staff did not know how to do their jobs. Got a coffee at the coffee shop, or tried to do so three times. First time, after waiting in line for 40 minutes, they did not know how to make a coffee drink that was advertised. The other time I gave up after 45 minutes, as they didn't know what they were doing and it was taking 10 minutes a customer. I saw the same lady being shown how to make the same drink several days in a row and they were not able to remember. The guy doing the training barely knew how to do it himself. The third time I did get a drink, but she forgot to put the flavoring into the cup. Ordered the surf and turf dinner from the grill and it took 45 minutes to arrive. When the $90 dish did arrive, the steak was just warm, the shrimp cold, and the potatoes lukewarm. Most of the pool area is under construction. The outside hot tub was closed. One of the elevators was out of order, so it took you 10 minutes to go up or down, with cars arriving full. Avoid this place at all costs. We were there for a conference and because it is far away from the town we could not just move someplace else. DON'T EVEN THINK OF BRINGING LEFTOVERS BACK BECAUSE THERE IS NO MICROWAVE IN THE ROOM!!!! You can "rent" one for $20 of course. What a fraud. This place is a nightmare. I had better service in SOVIET MOSCOW just before the fall of the Soviet Union! DO NOT BOOK!!!!!

Hotel needs a major update!! Rooms were smelly and musty!! The whole place is stuck in the 80's. Rooms need new furniture, and carpet, the windows were dirty and couldnt see through them. I'm sure in the 80's it was a great place but now not so much!! Stay somewhere else! The staff was awesome!!!

"Terribly disappointed"

We were greatly disappointed and left the next morning (we were booked for four nights). No hot water, dried blood on the bedspread, no glasses or cups for coffee maker, no shampoo, shower gel, etc. I called the front desk first night and told them we took cold showers and that a fixture on the tub had broken off, etc. Next morning we told them of the problem again and that we were leaving. They only refunded three nights but charged us for the first night. They also now charge $10 per night for self parking on their lot plus daily resort fees. Their main restroom on the main floor was filthy, cannot believe they have gone down hill from when we stayed there two years ago. Couldn’t even refund our first night

"50th Anniversary Trip... Should Have Been Special.."
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5
Reviewed April 24, 2025 NEW
Came to Chateau and Branson for our 50th Anniversary over Easter weekend. While another couple had a memorable time for their anniversary, we can't say the same. No acknowledgement by the staff and our room was not stocked wih enough towels, drinking cups, TP, tissues or soap. Water was supposed to be complementary, but not the case. Had to make several trips down for supplies during the stay, as no housekeeping visits at all! One time we were told things were delivered to the room, but found out on checkout, they'd delivered to a room on a different floor and not the same number! The hotel is in a great location and has nice views. But, it needs some TLC, and room updates. Ours smelled very musty, which we couldn't get rid if even with an air purifier the desk manager brought up. I appreciate that effort even though not successful. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, but follow through by housekeeping and other staff was not there. Disappointing for a 4 star hotel. To cap it off a $300 pending charge ($100 per night) was placed on my credit card. Although it was taken off 3 days after checkout, we were not advised of this by anyone. Not appropriate! It was not the anniversary trip we had hoped for...
