The views are breath taking. Before you watch a movie in the theater you can grab dessert.

"Sorry to say, headed in the wrong direction"

We stay here every year for the last 6 years and usually have a great time. I understand this year is difficult with the COVID-19 but the upkeep on the resort has fallen. Most employees, especially the bellhops were great. At checkout, there were charges for food we never ordered. We arrived Thursday and it was not yet busy but the carpet on 4th floor had a crumbly pretzel being trampled on for about 24 hours, unacceptable. The room was not the cleanest; seemed like it really needed a deep cleaning, for instance the waste basket holder in bathroom had years of dust and dirt accumulated in the nooks and crannies, light switch plates were worn and looked dirty. The pod coffee maker had some weird looking stuff inside and I bet has never had a cleaning or sterilizing solution run through it. The air conditioning was adequate but noisy at the end of the cycle like a flap slams closed or such, hard to sleep with that. Check it out Chateau, room 434. We are consistent and repeat customers and spend money there and at the marina on boat rental everytime we visit. I can no longer justify the rather steep prices for such average resort qualities. When Covid ends, we have pent up need to take our grandkids to the lake. Sorry, but without some major incentive, we will go back to your only other real competitor in the area.

The company that owned this went into bankruptcy a few years back and it looks like that is about when they quit spending money on upgrades and slowed down on maintenance of the ground. The inside of the hotel is clean and not bad overall but it needs help soon or it will drop drastically. The views are great of the lake. The pictures of the amenities such as the tennis court online are no where near what they look like. Several safety hazards with the rails, spider webs all over the balconies, trees not trimmed, weeds growing, etc. Here is the “Covid” situation. No room service, no bar at the pool, no pizza/deli restaurant open, theater closed, common areas at spa closed, store/sundry closed. There is literally no place to get hot food between 2-5 so plan accordingly. We will not be back until there is a major renovations and will stick to Big Cedar from now on.

"Very Disappointing"

Love the location, fireworks, the pool, ice cream/sweets store, the sounds of a river/stream throughout the main area, plenty of seats to watch the sunset over the lake, hotel staff, and the bar tender for giving us water:-). It would get five stars if it didn't show some signs of aging, some minor holes in my sheets on the bed, paint peeling, and the tennis courts are really looking run down. The price they charge should have been less due to the world we are living in. If you have less amenities and staff then you shouldn't charge for it. One example we found out, once we got there, was no movies in their theater. It would have been nice to have a clearer picture of what we were getting for the rate they were charging.7/7/2020 I recently gave this place a 3 star review. They left a response on here to have me call them. I did, twice, and have not had any calls back. I not sure what is going on with this place but before this I would have stayed there again but now I don't think that will happen. Since there was a lack of response on the customer service side in responding to my calls I am dropping my rating. 8/2/2020

"Great Get Away"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed August 01, 2020 NEW
Booked this as our only summer get away after month of shelter in place. In spite of no daily housekeeping we enjoyed our stay. I room needed the tub drain and shower knob fixed and it was handled promptly. The bell man and door man were polite and a nice feature. No valet parking but we never had trouble finding a spot. This location feels like an oasis away from the touristy area yet a close drive. We had a delicious dinner on the premise also.

"Last minute vacation-no regrets"

Everything was awesome. Read a few previous reviews and almost didn’t book here. So glad we did. We saw no trash in the halls and our room was clean. The hotel may be older but well kept. The amenities are available but due to COVID-19 the hotel provides them on request as they aren’t currently providing daily housekeeping service. I had no problem with this at all. I don’t need someone to make my bed every day and within 5 minutes of calling our trash and dirty towels were picked up and anything we asked for was delivered! Thank you for a great week!!
