This hotel has a reputation for quality and excellence, although we saw none of it during our recent visit. We were not notified about the things that were closed even though our reservation was made the day we were to arrive. No restaurant was open in the entire hotel due to a large party. They did provide pizza in the lounge, which was very good. The spa and movie theater was also closed. The staff was friendly and trying to make the best of a bad situation, but under-staffing made their job difficult. Part of the problem is Covid-19, but my complaint has to do with a lack of information before arrival and the high cost of a room despite the lack of services.

We came to Branson for a family vacation and the hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. We were given a room on the 4th floor with a limited view and we asked to be moved to a higher floor and they gladly accommodated us. Overall our stay was fantastic and I would highly recommend the Chateau on the Lake for anyone coming to the Branson area!

I wasn't planning on writing a review. It hadn't crossed my mind until the front desk asked me via text if I would. When I replied "I'm not sure you will like my review" there was no reply back. My husband and I stayed the weekend for our 20th anniversary, so kind of special (to us anyway). I am fully well aware of the issues surrounding covid and we went in expecting it. This wasn't a horrible experience but it sure wasn't "resort" quality. Check in was super fast and easy. The front desk clerk was great. I was told it was a "full house" that night so when we had to wait quite some time for dinner, this was expected. What wasn't expected was the lack of items on the menu. No other restaurants we visited had a deviation from their menu. Not a deal breaker by any means but we may have chosen another restaurant to celebrate our actual anniversary night. The rooms were nice, I paid extra to have a King Ambassador suite. We did see some mildew on the tile in the shower. Nothing I was going to change rooms for but again, when paying "resort" prices, I do expect "resort" quality. What was NOT okay were the spotlights shining directly into our balcony. We could not sit out there and enjoy the view for we were blinded. The lights did not go off until 10pm. We were told it was a "full house" that night so knew there was no changing rooms. No where did it mention this while I was making my reservations. The whole point of coming to Chateau was for the view and ambience. The 2nd night we decided to hang out in the rocking chairs that are out along the back of the hotel and watch the sunset. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! We then decided to order a couple of things to go from the grill: a salad wedge and shrimp cocktail. $10 for a wedge salad and it was nothing more than the top 6 layers of a head of lettuce and it was inundated in dressing. It was pretty gross and definitely NOT a wedge nor worth $10. We did not take it back for it already took way too long for these two items to be ready. Checkout was super fast and the front desk person super nice. What I don't fully understand is the need to still charge customers $25 per night for a "resort fee" when it really wasn't. So many things are missing. So, overall my impression was "meh". Came here for an amazing get away weekend to celebrate 20 years of marriage (and let's face it, get away from the kids a bit since it's been 9 months of togetherness LOL) and nothing about it felt special or "resort worthy". For $539 for 2 nights, including a $50 for a "resort fee", I don't feel this was worth the money. Not saying we would never stay again but unlikely and not until the hotel is fully back up and running.
