"Wonderful venue for Celebration of Life"

I chose the Catamaran for my husband’s Celebration of Life. The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. They helped me plan the event, and made choices of food and beverages easy. They were able to accommodate some last minute changes to the plan, and made sure everything, from food to PA system were right. The catering manager for the event, Lisa Gossman, was terrific helping me plan, and providing some table decorations which helped keep a bunch of little kids busy during the event. On the day of the event, Yewbie was the Banquet Captain. She was amazing, quietly working in the background to ensure all the food and drinks were perfect. Near the end of the event, she even brought me a plate with several protein servings, as she knew I’d spent all my energy with my speech and visiting with guests. We’ve been to the Catamaran many times before. Very happy.

"Pleasant property, great location!"

Stayed in a garden view room, 1st floor, overlooking duck pond. That was lucky - many are overlooking the walkway, but we did love the duck pond! And the garden view rooms are great because they're very close to the pool, game room, lobby, and restaurant. I would probably avoid the tower - that did not look appealing to me. The bay view rooms are probably nice if you want something a bit quieter - can't vouch for how up-to-date they are. The garden view room we stayed in was nicely updated. Thoughts on the amenities; (1) restaurant: excellent, with great service, but it is a bit too expensive for what it is. Worth it for the convenience if you're pressed for time. There is also a cafe onsite that offers coffee/tea drinks plus simple hot food items - not just sweets, which meant it works great for a quick breakfast or lunch. (2) game room: It's a bit of a hole in the wall, practically a service closet, and some of the games are a bit old, but there's a nice variety (a shooting game, a racing game, an actual basketball hoop game, touch screen Fruit Ninja (cool!), and a few others). Oddly, there was one that seemed to cost a quarter, and no one was playing that one. Everything else we saw was free. (3) Bird cage - this is very cool, open 10am to 3:30pm, with feedings and trainer talks at various times. They have a number of birds and the trainers are professionals - I thought it was well done. (4) Pool/Hot tub - the pool is a bit on the small side for a resort, but the hot tub is huge, and honestly at most times we stopped by, there were more people in the hot tub than in the pool! Nothing spectacular, but well kept and usable, and has a towel dispenser for convenience. (5) the bay is quite amazing to have right there. We just sat on the sand and played; didn't use any of the rental offerings, so can't comment on that. The biggest benefit of Catamaran, however, is the location - if you enjoy being able to walk to a very nice beach (2 blocks away) or having your pick of dozens of local restaurants within a 1/2 mile walk, you will like this place.
