We bought a one day pass and decided after doing it for a couple of hours we would have been cheaper and better off if we were to do it again to take a cab. We had two drivers (we didn't hop on and hop off but had to change at stop 1). It was very very hard to hear what the driver was saying, muffled and loud. You also couldn't see through the windows as they're plastic (so that they can be rolled up in the summer) and are very scratched (on both trolleys). We decided after a couple of hours that we were better off seeing the sights ourselves and so got off and didn't make further use of it.

We hopped on and off a few times and really weren’t impressed with the drivers until we got on Uncle Steve’s bus!!! He was a game changer and we actually changed our plans to get off the bus a few stops down and stayed on his bus for the whole loop. I could have listened to him all day! So full of not only knowledge but PASSION AND LOVE for his city of Boston! I told him as we exited the bus if more high school teachers taught like him no one would drop out of school. Public transit is wonderful in Boston so take that if you just need to travel the city but if you want to invest in a tour make sure to get on Steve’s bus!!! Liz (I think that’s her name) in the office was also very nice to our family when we were buying tickets. She gave us a few dollar discount which was very welcomed since the price tag is high for our budget.

"Trolley bus great"

As suggested in the title we enjoyed the trolley bus tour with good coverage of the city (although mention of Harvard on the map needs to point out it’s a long way from the stop). The drivers who act as guides were tremendous and we had 5 different people. The one down side isn’t a trolley bus problem but a Boston problem - signs are needed to say where the bus stops. It’s far too random to look at the map and hope you’re in the right place ! Apparently Boston don’t allow such signs but this is a real disservice to visitors who want to get around this beautiful city - please get this sorted out

Started this tour with Gonzo who seemed to have an attitude from the get go. He was cheesy akmnd sarcastic at best. Hopped off at Cheers and waited about 35 minutes, not the 20 they tell you before Quint and Shenanigans finally picked us up. They were pleasant but hard to understand. Bottom line, skip this service.

Food and drinks are welcome. However, alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed under any circumstance for the safety and comfort of all of our guests.

The trolleys are open-air vehicles but have plastic “isinglass” windows that can roll up or roll down depending on the weather conditions.

Does the tour still operate in inclement weather?
Yes, we operate our tours rain or shine, hot or cold, year-round. We use heated trolleys that are glass-enclosed specifically for the colder weather. Occasionally, we’re forced to close operations for safety reasons, due to extreme conditions such as blizzards.

Does the trolley come back to get me is I get off?
The trolleys go around the city in a continuous loop, allowing guests to hop off and hop on at the designated stops. When you hop off a trolley to see the sights at a particular stop, that trolley will continue with the tour, and another trolley will arrive shortly to make another pick up.

Space on the trolleys is limited; but in some cases it may be acceptable to bring a small suitcase on board. Bear in mind that our trolleys are designed specifically for sightseeing and therefore contain limited storage space (as compared to motor coaches).
