A friend recommended the Bostonian a couple of years ago, since then this is the only place I like to stay. Centrally located, clean and great staff. I really feel appreciated when we stay there and when the staff care enough to remember your name it says alot. Alexandre stands out during our last visit greeting my wife and I with a good morning by name. Thank you for always making us feel special.

Recently stayed at the Bostonian Hotel so that we could take an early flight at the airport the next morning. From arrival to departure we had a great experience. We especially were impressed with the staff they were super professional and friendly. The check in and check out process was super fast and we made it to the airport with plenty of time the next morning.

The hotel is extremely well located, allowing to explore downtown Boston on foot. The rooms are spacious and pleasant, I particularly appreciated the serenity I needed during a two day business stay. As for the service everything was perfect-Alexandre at réception is an exceptional host with a keen eye for detail, élégance and professionalism. Thanks to him and his team, it a place I would recommend to anyone staying in Boston.

"Never again. Rude staff, dirty rooms."

I will start with the poor service. Every single time I interacted with the gentleman who seemed to be some sort of hotel manager, he asked the person next to him to help me. This wouldn’t be an issue if he made eye contact, or smiled, or made any sort of attempt at being friendly at all. He started our stay out on a bad foot and he never got more pleasant. I asked him for a robe in person a few hours later, and he asked the woman behind the desk to get it for me. He barked my room number at her. I was lucky enough to walk by a little while later and she asked me my room number again, because “he forgot it”. No surprise there, he made it clear he could not have cared less about helping me. I hope he’s the one who reads this because his attitude was loud and clear and he should find a different job. Next, the room. We stayed in a standard double. It was a major disappointment. The balcony handle was hanging off by very loose screws, the lock barely functioned. The tub fixtures were all loose except for the actual shower sprayer. The drain spout was faulty, the emergency drain cover was not staying on and exposed sharp metal for my children to touch. Bathtime was cut short. We found ants behind the bed and someone’s left behind pocketknife in the mini-fridge. I should have asked to move rooms but ultimately I’m glad I didn’t. I’ll get to why in the next paragraph. My initial reason for not asking was not wanting to interact with the jerk at the desk. Noise- We were on the “quiet” side of the building. The other side was unbearably loud with drumming from the buskers. I could hear the drumming from our room but it was tolerable. I have no idea how the people on the other side of the building were dealing with it. If you are used to staying on the Harbor front, or Seaport, the noise from Faneuil Hall will be noticeable and off-putting. The location is good for being able to sight-see but it is the noisiest part of the city by far. The noise isn’t the hotel’s fault but with every other issue, I could never choose this place again. You can just as easily get to where you need to go while staying in a different part of the city. Boston is an amazing walking city.

First room was absolutely disgusting. Stained carpet, furniture and curtains. Torn upholstery. Shower was disgusting. They moved us to a second room. Heat didn't work thermostat was broken. Fridge was literally dismantled and not working. Lamp was busted. Ceiling was leaking. Sink wouldn't drain. Window wouldn't stay closed because handle was broken. Horrible accommodations.
