"Great tour"

We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the swamp. Rich and Dollar gave us a great trip around the swamp. Despite the noisy boat, we had ear defenders and it was very relaxing to be driven around. We saw basking alligators and turtles and learnt loads about the habitat.

"A baby alligator is not humans' toy."

I joined this boat tour to enjoy Mississippi nature. But this tour doesn't respect nature at all. I really got disappointed. The Mississippi nature was good. The unique scenery of the trees entangled with Spanish moss was very beautiful! I saw water birds, herons and a young alligator resting in the grass. Yes, it was a natural place where wild animals lived. At first I was surprised the roar of a small air boats. It broke through the silence of riverside nature clearly. I thought this noise heavily aanoys wild animals. I don't understand why they are using such boats today. And in the second half of the tour, the guide pulled out a baby alligator of 12 inches from somewhere. Then he handed the baby to us for taking a photo. The baby was passed around like a toy. I was watching where the baby was taken. At last I found the guide put it in the cooler box and closed the lid. Poor thing!! I was very sad, and it angered me. Hey, A BABY ALLIGATOR IS NOT HUMANS’ TOY!! They have right to live in nature. We humans have no right to take it out. The natural observation tour should respect the nature and wildlife. I can’t belive that such an outdated tour is taking place in the age of eco-tourism. I hope this tour at the expense of wildlife will end, and turn into eco-tourism.

"Not a great experience"

I've done other swamp tours, but this would count as one of the noisiest. I went out on one of the larger ordinary boats, but there were so many other smaller airboats around that it made for a noisy experience. I always find it's better/ easier to see animals & birds in the wild if you behave quietly and respect their environment, but this was difficult. Once we got into some of the side bayous and lost some of the other boats it got better.

"Took the swamp tour"

Took the swamp tour on the weekend of the 24th of November. Went with my girlfriend, sister and brother. We were picked up from the Sheraton on canal street, the transportation to the location went well, the process of getting our wristbands went smooth, an added bonus is getting to see the albino alligator. The ride it self lasted a pretty good amount of time, I can’t remember how long it was but we got to learn about the bayou/swamps and we unfortunately only got to see one gator in the water for a few mins. The tour guide told us because of the winter cold the gators hibernate, I would love to come back in the warmer season to see more. I do recommend this tour for anyone who has not been to a swap.
