This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. At check-in, no one offered to help with our bags. Regarding parking, the staff only told us where the garage was located—no mention of the $50 daily fee. I specifically chose this hotel because the website advertised complimentary parking, which clearly means free, not paid. Had I known about the charge, I would not have parked there. The issues continued in the room. The lamp was broken, with the lampshade on the floor. There was hair on the pillow, the shower glass was filthy, and the tub was covered in dirt and debris, presumably from previous guests. On the second day, we left at 7:30 AM to explore New Orleans and returned at 5 PM to find our room had not been cleaned. We did not use the “Do Not Disturb” sign, so we expected housekeeping to refresh the room. When I called the front desk for towels so we could shower, they never arrived. This hotel was a complete disappointment. I will never return and will strongly advise everyone I know to avoid it when visiting New Orleans.

Unfortunately, our room was robbed while we were out at dinner during our last night here. They stole my wife's Ray Ban sunglasses, jewelry, and a new dress that I bought her. But they left our laptops (likely because of device tracking). The hotel insisted that no hotel staff gained access to the room with their keycards while we were out but we think that maybe the "do not disturb" door placard blocked the lock (we noticed it was stuck in the door jam when returned to the room). According to a hotel manager, he's seen this happen with other guest's rooms and has had to close their door for them! Frustratingly, the hotel elevator is supposed to be only be accessed with a guest room card, but we noticed other guests unlocking for anyone in the elevator (so not sure how effective this is). There is also (oddly), no security cameras on the guest room floors. After looking at other hotel reviews and crime maps, it appears that this is an issue in the area. I highly recommend using a room safe for valuables and double checking that your door closes and locks. Also check that "do not disturb" door placard! The hotel will not compensate you for losses unless you can prove that it was hotel staff. Outside of this, the hotel is nice and clean. The location is good if you are looking for a more quiet experience near some great restaurants and museums. Not too far from the quarter, but you will likely need to take a ride share or the trolly. While the area seems reasonably safe during the day, I would not recommend walking at night alone, especially after looking at incident crime maps (and experiencing it first hand).

This hotel was definitely one of a kind. The dedication is showed to our military veterans is evident along the corridors and halls of this very clean and modern hotel. It resides right across the street from the WWII Museum and lies on some of the best territory in New Orleans. The staff was polite and very helpful. The rooms are very clean and attention to detail is paid to ensure you enjoy your stay. There are spacious meeting rooms with audio-visual equipment that will meet your needs. I enjoyed my stay and all needs were met during my business meeting and overnight stay.

"The Higgin Hotel & Nat'l WWII Museum: the perfect combination!"

Hilton Hotels are known worldwide for providing quality and service, but this hotel takes these attributes (and much more) to an entirely new level. First, the hotel's location across the street from the outstanding National WWII Museum is unequaled in terms of convenience. Walking out the hotel's front door and into the museum is extremely convenient and easy. Sharing a seccure parking garage with the museum is another plus. However, the hotel easily stands on its own merits. A member of Hilton's Curio Collection, the Higgins is spacious, stately, well-appointed, modern and filled with amenities at every turn. Guest rooms are immaculate, spacious and up-to-date in terms of furnishings and technology. A birds-eye view of the museum's courtyard from my 6th floor room set the stage for a wonderful stay. The bathroom is large and airy, with a large bay window overlooking New Orleans. A separate enclosed shower, soaking tub and water closet offer plenty of space and privacy. Two marble-top vanities provide space for two to easily share the space. Service is top-notch, from profesional front desk personnel to housekeeping attendants. Two restaurants are conveniently located near the front lobby; Offerings include Cafe Normandy, a full-service eatery and Cafe Provisions, a coffee shop offering a variety of hot beverages and pastries (seating is provided). I enjoyed a lesiurely breakfast of coffee and pastries at Provisions while overlooking a busy NOLA street, then browsed through the shop's selection of tasteful souvenirs. If you're planning to visit the WWII Museum, a stay at The Higgins is the perfect way to spend the entire day (optimal time is 2 days to see everything) at the musem. You can fully immerse yourself in the museum courtesy of secure parking, safety, convenience and modern, comfortable accomodations. The hotel is also within easy walking distance to the riverfront and many popular restaurants.
