Adventureland Iowa Tickets

I grew up going to Adventureland - my first trip was 1984. I took my son, now 6, twice in the last two weeks once with just our family and once with friends. While we had a good time and made it really special for him, the park itself is really disappointing. First, everything is so overpriced. Tickets are reasonable if you use a discount (ends up about $35 or so), but the carnival game prices are ridiculous and the food prices are just insulting. Tip culture is out of control anyway but being asked a tip screen for buying a bottle of water or food you pick up yourself is WILD. The food is super average and nearly everything you see is fried. It's 2025 and there's one place with a vegetable or fruit for sale? They're missing a huge segment of the population that doesn't want to eat fried junk in the Iowa heat and humidity. Condiments sit outside in the heat all day and aren't refilled when they're empty. Like others have mentioned, Wok & Roll isn't ever open but no signs indicating if/when it would be. Food quality is just terrible, truly. Mini donuts were hard as a rock, chicken strips tough, fried shrimp overcooked, corndog so bad it went in the trash after one bite...I mean come on. Got ice cream at Main Street Creamery the first day - the gal serving us was very obviously high, no consistency between scoop sizes (three single scoops, all completely different sizes), a "cup" is actually a styrofoam bowl? No lids or straws for drinks, which with little kids wandering with drink cups and spilling everywhere, of course everything is sticky. Yes, the environment. Even Disney uses lids and paper straws! Our first trip to Adventureland two weeks ago we spent $120 on food/drinks for 2 adults and 1 child. And left hungry! The second trip we changed the strategy, didn't buy any snacks, only one meal, and still spent $75 again for 2 adults and 1 child. And again with the tipping. Just crazy. Entrance staff are great and the staff pushing the speedy pass were super friendly and conversational (and weren't pushy!). Staff running rides and food stands need some massive customer service training. Never smiling, terrible attitudes, no attention to anything but avoiding offering customer service. We asked for ranch to be refilled at the coca cola "restaurant" and got a "no." Nothing else. I think some of the park custodial staff are trying. But man things are filthy. Bathrooms were horrible the first trip, a little better the second but not by much. Surfaces are just gross. Trash cans overflowing. Maintenance feels non-existent. So many rides need to be updated - paint, whatever. Some look like they haven't been touched since my first trip 40 years ago. The water park is crowded (as expected on a hot day) with really bizarre rules that are enforced for some people and not for others. No shorts? My son was told to take off his aqua socks after we'd been all over the park in them (and no explanation to why he had to take them off in the first place). No zippers? No snaps? They say no "thong" style suits and yet they were absolutely everywhere. It seems like they're making rules for the sake of having rules. Now, on the plus side...if you go during the week, the park is wide open - not crowded at all, virtually no lines (Saw Mill Splash was our longest line both trips - about 45 minutes the first time and over an hour the second time because one of the rafts wasn't being used). Thankfully they offer discounts, which some other parks don't. They allow you to bring in sealed water bottles and sport drinks, which is great. Bringing in a wagon is a day-saver.

AWFUL experience EVERY time we have gone this year. i am not sure what it is, but they have gone WAY downhill. and i grew up in iowa and used to frequent the park. i have a season pass this year, but will not be getting another in the future. half of the time their employees are not relayed the correct information and their wifi is down. no one cares or has any sense of urgency when something happens, NOR do they care about your experience as a customer. such a money hungry company who doesn’t care at all about their employees or customers. ew. 🤢

The best amusement park for a bigger family. There is no “kiddie land”, just a bunch of rides mixed up in adventure levels. Hated going to Six Flags with multi-height/age kids so wife and I have to split up “I’ll go on roller coaster with Johnny while you take Sally to kid park and meet after lunch.” There’s none of that at Adventureland. Thrill ride is next to kid ride so small kid goes three times while older kids wait in line and do a coaster. Wife and i take turns doing fun rides. Adventureland is the only theme park that doesn’t make families split up!

A racist place that racially profiles do not go. Went and bought tickets with my entire family and they treated us like dogs.

⭐️⭐️☆☆☆ — Fun but way overpriced and disappointing It was a fun day overall, but honestly, it was way overpriced for what you get. You really have to go early if you want to get a spot in the water park — otherwise, good luck finding a tube or a place to sit and relax. I wish they had an easier way to keep your payment info and membership on file so you wouldn’t have to carry your card or membership around all day. It would be so much more convenient to just show your membership and charge things as you go. The biggest letdown was that most of the rides were shut down, which was especially disappointing for families with younger kids. Hopefully 2025 membership will go better. I hope they don't make you stand in line when you bring a friend on your membership card., that's a pain.
