Colonial Park Cemetery

Considered famously haunted, Colonial Park Cemetery is the oldest cemetery in Savannah and holds over nine thousand graves. Colonial Park’s sprawling six-acre grounds contain the remains of many distinguished Savannah citizens. One such notable grave is that of Button Gwinnett, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

In addition, many victims of the Yellow Fever Epidemic ended up buried here in mass graves. To this day, numerous visitors report inexplicable sounds and sights. The most common ghost sighting is of a man named Rene Rondolier, who was said to have been hung inside the cemetery from a tree.
