Can’t wait to embark on the musical avenue adventure of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? Head to the Eugene O’Neill Theatre to witness this spectacle of sarcasm that garnered nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Created from the devious minds of Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez, the New York Times called the Book of Mormon tickets the “gateway to a newborn, old-fashioned, pleasure-giving musical.”

The original production premiered on March 24, 2011, and was choreographed by Casey Nicholaw and co-directed by Nicholaw and Parker. Josh Gad would play Elder Cunningham and Andrew Rannells played Elder Price.

The tone-deaf antics of these missionaries in Africa were enhanced by outrageous numbers that paid homage to classic musicals such as The King and I and 42nd Street. Laugh out loud, funny with a dash of heart. It’s no wonder Book of Mormon would go on to become one of the most successful musicals of all time.

Poverty, AIDs, and violence may not sound like the trappings of a hilarious and heartfelt musical. Yet, in the skilled hands of Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Bobby Lopez humor is always found, making no topic too dirty or taboo.

Find yourself singing along to catchy numbers such as ‘Two by Two’ and ‘All American Prophet,’ as you witness the winsome bromance of Elder Cunningham and Price.
