What do I need to know about the giant sequoias hike?

The hike is only available when trail conditions are safe—usually from April to October. The hike is a 2-mile round trip on a paved trail with a steep incline, so those with respiratory issues or not used to strenuous exercise can skip the hike and wait at the outdoor seating at Tuolumne Grove stop.

What should I bring with me on tour?

You'll spend approximately 4–5 hours outdoors in nature, so it's best to dress in layers and wear comfortable shoes or hiking sandals. Bring a light water-resistant jacket, camera or phone, 1-liter water bottle, hat, sunscreen, sturdy umbrella (when there's possible rain), and some cash or credit card for meals, snacks and souvenirs.

Are meals included and can I buy or bring my own?

Meals are not included in this tour, but there will be a stop halfway to and from Yosemite so you can buy food and beverages. There are also a few onsite restaurants in Yosemite Valley (usually crowded), but you can also bring a packed lunch and drink.

I’m traveling with a child; do I need to bring a child seat?

For your child’s safety, all vehicle tours require child safety seats or a booster for every child under eight (8) years of age or 4′ 9″ in height. If you need assistance arranging for a safety seat, please leave a comment in the “Have Special Needs?” section when booking your reservation.

How will we recognize the vehicle?

All of the tour vehicles are marked "Extranomical Tours". Your guide will have your name and announce the arrival of the vehicle at your pick-up location.
