My experience with Westgate’s timeshare has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. From the beginning, the information they gave me was confusing, incomplete, and in some cases misleading. The salesperson who handled my case, Héctor Bay, assured me that everything was recorded on camera and that he couldn’t lie because of that. However, when I called customer service and asked them to review the audio of that conversation, they told me that no audio recordings exist. I felt deceived, unprotected, and trapped in a contract that does not reflect what was promised to me. I’ve tried to resolve several issues, but all I received were evasive answers, unexpected charges, and a complete lack of empathy. When I asked for help to exit the contract or renegotiate, I was given no clear options and no human support. That’s why I firmly warn: DO NOT BUY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. No matter what they promise you. Read every clause with legal guidance and proceed with extreme caution. Spread the word! Let no one else fall into this trap disguised as an opportunity. I write this review to protect other consumers and to urge Westgate to review its practices and treat its clients with the dignity they deserve.

During our recent family trip to Orlando, we were approached at Islands of Adventure by a representative named Liz Fermin, who offered what appeared to be a generous promotion: attend a 90-minute presentation at Westgate Vacation Villas and, in return, receive tickets to Horror Nights. We paid $20 right there, as she assured us she would personally reserve our tickets for the next day after we completed the presentation. What began as a simple, friendly offer quickly became an experience filled with deception, manipulation, and a profound lack of professionalism. The next morning, we arrived as agreed to attend the presentation. Our assigned salesperson was Ciro Hernandez, a man who at first seemed charming, approachable, and genuinely convincing. As any seasoned salesperson, he knew exactly how to win our trust. He spoke passionately about travel, family, and the idea of becoming “owners,” presenting the timeshare concept as a smart, family-friendly investment. As the conversation unfolded, the proposal seemed increasingly tempting — spacious family accommodations, flexibility to travel within or outside the U.S., and even the supposed option to rent out our property when we weren’t using it. Everything sounded ideal… almost too ideal. That “90-minute presentation” ended up lasting over five exhausting hours filled with emotional pressure and cleverly disguised sales tactics. Before proceeding with the purchase, we asked again about the Horror Nights tickets that were supposedly already reserved for us. That’s when they casually informed us that the tickets were sold out — despite Liz Fermin’s earlier guarantee. At that exact moment, our intuition told us something was terribly wrong. Still, we continued, hoping to clarify things. Then came the final stage — the closing session with the notary, Ana, who, unlike the rest of the staff, displayed true professionalism and integrity. She carefully walked us through every detail of the contract and explained what everything actually meant. And that was when the truth came to light. Absolutely nothing that Ciro Hernandez had promised was true. He had assured us, for instance, that making a reservation just eight days in advance would guarantee our stay — which turned out to be completely false. Availability is never guaranteed. He also misrepresented the supposed ability to rent out the property for profit and omitted the outrageously high interest rates and hidden costs buried in the fine print. To make matters worse, he claimed he personally owned a property he was “reselling” to us at a “special discount.” They even brought out printed papers showing inflated “original prices” to make us believe we were getting an unbelievable deal — a classic sales trick designed to manipulate emotions and urgency. Thanks to Ana’s honesty and transparency, we realized what was happening and decided to cancel everything immediately. And thank God we did. Otherwise, we would have fallen into a long-term financial trap built entirely on false promises. It is absolutely unacceptable that a company of Westgate Vacation Villas’ size and reputation allows, or even enables, this type of unethical behavior. Families come to Orlando to relax and create memories — not to be subjected to hours of manipulation, deception, and emotional exhaustion disguised as a “presentation.” What happened to us was not a misunderstanding; it was a systematic and intentional sales strategy based on lies and pressure. I strongly urge anyone reading this: do not fall for their offers. Do not believe the promises of free tickets, gifts, or “exclusive opportunities.” None of it is real. If you are ever tempted to attend one of these sessions, read every detail, ask every question, and do not sign a single page until you have absolute clarity. These people are trained to make you feel comfortable while quietly taking advantage of your trust. Westgate Vacation Villas must be held accountable. Transparency, honesty, and respect toward customers are not optional — they are the bare minimum for any company that wishes to call itself reputable. This experience left us disappointed, frustrated, and deeply disillusioned, and I hope this review reaches corporate leadership. No family should ever go through what we did.

The property was very nice, and the location was great. Was a little upset that the pool bars were closed for the season. Was not told that at check in or booking the resort.

The staff was super nice and friendly! We brought our dog and he loved it! They gave him a cute dog goodie bag and had a nice park! Walking was easy for campus and there was a lot of transport options! We enjoyed the mexican restaurant, food, and pool/spas. It was beautiful and very nice during off season! Highly recommend!

We own a condo share in wastegate. We were disappointed we werent booked in the remodeled section and instead booked in the ones not changed, and it shows, since we bought it years ago. It sufficed but looked very very outdated. Fairly cleaned, not unbearable, but really need nooks and crannies cleaned.
