Just a two-minute walk from Waikiki Beach and Kuhio Beach Park, Waikiki Resort Hotel has an outdoor pool and terrace. Each room and suite includes a private balcony with ocean, mountain, or city views. A flat-screen cable TV, a work desk with an ergonomic chair, and tropical decor are featured in each room. A small refrigerator and coffee-making facilities are also included for convenience.

The Ilima Cafe, on-site, serves an American-style menu, featuring a breakfast buffet and sandwiches, ramen, and local specialties for lunch.

The lobby is grand but once you get to other areas and your room it’s clearly outdated. Room doesn’t feel clean and the breakfast is simple and limited. The staff is unfriendly. Got scolded for refilling my waterbottle at the breakfast area. However there’s no problem refilling your thermos with hot water which is confusing. It’s obvious that they are a lot more friendly towards westerners than Asians (even if the staff is Asian themselves). The staff at the laundry/towel rental counter was friendly though. Quite expensive hotel for low standards.

The location of this hotel is very good. It is bit old, but enough for several days staying. Also, the front staffs are very kind. Despite arriving at very before for check-in time, they coordinate our room kindly.

The front desk staff are not very friendly. Brandon checked us in and when I asked about any reduction of parking or resort fees, he got very rude and just kept repeating "I cannot, I cannot do anything". I asked about paying for both rooms on the same transaction of my CC, again, "I cannot, I cannot". I finally had to tell him, it's ok, I'm just asking because we had a 20-year veteran with us and I see the website offers some military discount. I didn't know the requirements and was just asking. It doesn't hurt to ask. He was very short with any questions we had. Walking past the desk multiple times a day, no one ever greeted us. The only person to even say good morning, was housekeeping as we were waiting for the elevator. We had adjoining rooms and asked to have them unlocked. The front desk said 5 minutes. They never showed up. The location is great. Just a short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. Rooms are dated, but clean. Beds are ok. There were only 2 bath towels per room, so we did have to ask for more. Lite buffet was ok. Plenty of options. Hula lesson was fun.
