Just a two-minute walk from Waikiki Beach and Kuhio Beach Park, Waikiki Resort Hotel has an outdoor pool and terrace. Each room and suite includes a private balcony with ocean, mountain, or city views. A flat-screen cable TV, a work desk with an ergonomic chair, and tropical decor are featured in each room. A small refrigerator and coffee-making facilities are also included for convenience.

The Ilima Cafe, on-site, serves an American-style menu, featuring a breakfast buffet and sandwiches, ramen, and local specialties for lunch.

A 24-hour reception, concierge desk, and gift shop are available in the Waikiki Hotel Resort lobby. A 24-hour business center features internet access and multilingual computers (English, Japanese, and Korean). An on-site spa offers massage and beauty treatments.

Not our first time to Honolulu, but our first time staying here. Pretty typical of most places we’ve stayed at over the years; it has its highs and lows. Amongst the highs are definitely the location! About one and a half blocks to the beach, and to the main drag with all of the shops…restaurants…etc. About a 15 min walk to all of the high end shops, restaurants, etc. GREAT view from our rack-room that was super clean, and housekeeping never missed servicing our room, even when we were only gone a couple of hours. Always left it super clean, extra points for the Keurig coffee maker in the room (bring your own pods, they provide 2 per day). No bottled water provided, but they do have a couple of filtered water stations you can fill your own bottle from, which was appreciated. Great HVAC system, and pretty good water pressure in the shower. Almost all of the staff we encountered were wonderful, smiling and friendly. The lows; Front desk people were courteous but not overly friendly. They did their jobs very efficiently, but didn’t really make you feel overly welcome. The ‘free’ breakfast was adequate at best, bare basics for food. Great if you’re just looking for a meal but not necessarily local fare…sort of what you would expect at just about any chain hotel on the mainland. They have a nicer restaurant, but it was only open until 10:30 in the morning and we never got a chance to try it out. If you’re thinking about renting a car, I’d say “don’t…use Uber”. $45 a day to park, either in a small street level lot or the under building lot that we used. Tight spaces, hard to get in and out of, very low ceiling. When we opened the lift gate on our rental suv it hit the sprinkler pipe, making a dent in the lift gate. Another expense. They have a lounge, which we certainly would have utilized to go have a beer, but every time we went by there the music was blaring. Seemed like it was targeting a ‘younger crowd’ (at least the week we were there). Having said all of that, now that we ‘know the ropes’ we’ll likely stay here again. We just won’t rent a car…

While we understand that tropical regions can have insects, the conditions in our assigned room were unacceptable. From the moment we entered the room, we noticed cockroaches, and despite housekeeping cleaning the room daily, we continued to find cockroaches every single day throughout our stay. This caused significant discomfort and concern, particularly regarding hygiene and health. In addition, I requested a kettle to heat drinking water. The kettle that was eventually provided was extremely dirty and clearly not in a usable or hygienic condition. I have photographs to support this, which I am happy to share upon request.
