Just a two-minute walk from Waikiki Beach and Kuhio Beach Park, Waikiki Resort Hotel has an outdoor pool and terrace. Each room and suite includes a private balcony with ocean, mountain, or city views. A flat-screen cable TV, a work desk with an ergonomic chair, and tropical decor are featured in each room. A small refrigerator and coffee-making facilities are also included for convenience.

The Ilima Cafe, on-site, serves an American-style menu, featuring a breakfast buffet and sandwiches, ramen, and local specialties for lunch.

A 24-hour reception, concierge desk, and gift shop are available in the Waikiki Hotel Resort lobby. A 24-hour business center features internet access and multilingual computers (English, Japanese, and Korean). An on-site spa offers massage and beauty treatments.

Nice location. Friendly staff. Clean room with a view. Complimentary amenities were not complimentary. Charge was $45 per day! Of the whole list, we used beach towels several times, which made them quite expensive. Same thing for the complimentary breakfast. You could choose from set menu items, which were good. But if you wanted anything more than coffee (like juice or milk) you had to pay a hefty price. In all my travels around the world, I have never experienced charges for items that were supposed to be complimentary. Building looked tired in spots, with peeling paint and mold spots on ceiling.

The hotel is close to the beach, only a block away. The open air lobby is interesting. When we arrived it was before 7PM and there was no one around except a security guard yelling at someone in your small driveway. The person we met at the front desk was friendly. I wasn't prepared for the resort fee, I should read the fine printer better. Our room was small, but had a balcony looking overlooking another hotel. There was a patched ceiling when we got off the elevator. Our room had a slight but not obnoxious smell. The pillows also had an odor, like they weren't clean. After a couple of days the TV stopped working and never worked again while we were there. The cleaning staff was friendly. We didn't really compare room rates with many other hotels, so the value I suppose is on par for Hawaii. The cleanliness could have been better. The hotel across the street had parties that went until 9 or 10, so you couldn't sleep with the sliding balcony door open. The gift shop was cheaper than the thousand ABC stores around, so make sure you get your supplies and gifts there. The pool on the second floor is small and surprisingly cold. This hotel is not a 'resort' by modern standards. It is a tall 'insert your hotel chain name here'. It was our first time to Hawaii. Live and learn, I would not stay here again and I would not recommend it.
