"Would Stay Again in a Heartbeat"

Delighted with every single part of our stay. Front desk staff was exactly the kind of people one wants to make a great first impression. Got the room we wanted. Ownership is changing so restaurant was only open for breakfast but it was great. You can walk to many nearby restaurants or across Lion Bridge to the tourist trap part of the city. Purchasing a trolly ticket will get you the free shuttle to the beach or the visitor center. Can't say enough good things about Voco. Totally happy.

Delighted with every single part of our stay. Front desk staff was exactly the kind of people one wants to make a great first impression. Got the room we wanted. It was HUGE. Location was perfect for walking to nearby restaurants or across the bridge to the noisy and tourist trap part of the city. Breakfast was more than than satisfying. We knew ownership was changing and the restaurant would temporarily be closed for dinner. The pool is tiny but there is adequate places to sit poolside. Shuttle service to beach and tourist area is free with purchase of trolley ticket. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

"Great Stay & Perfect Location"

We had a great stay at Hotel Voco in St. Augustine! The beds were super comfy, which is always a win. We loved having the parking garage—so convenient and stress-free. The location is fantastic and very walkable to downtown St. Augustine, about a half-mile or so, which made getting around easy and enjoyable. We didn’t swim, but the pool looked nice, just on the smaller side. Shower door was interesting lol Overall, a comfortable, convenient stay and we’d definitely come back!

"Overpriced, Poorly Maintained, Disappointing, Breakfast is a joke"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5
Reviewed February 08, 2026
This hotel advertises itself as a boutique property with a European vibe. Unfortunately, that description is very misleading. Our walk-in shower had visible cracks, there was rust around the door, and the bathroom outlet did not work, forcing me to dry my hair in the bedroom. When reported, staff simply said they would “add it to the list of repairs,” with no apology or resolution. We were traveling with two other couples, and one described the hotel perfectly: a pig with lipstick on it. The breakfast situation was honestly laughable and not worth it—whether you prepaid or paid on site. We wanted to eat at the hotel so we could get out quickly and start our day, but that plan completely backfired. The other two couples prepaid; we didn’t, because there were only three prepaid options and I knew I’d only eat one of them—and certainly not four days in a row. I assumed there would be other menu choices once we arrived. Joke was on me—there were none. A basic breakfast of scrambled eggs, toast, home fries, and a croissant was $18. Coffee was an additional $4.50, plus tax and tip—over $50 for the two of us. And then came the real issue: the service. It took 10–15 minutes just to get coffee, another 45 minutes for breakfast, and two people received their meals 15 minutes after everyone else. We all ordered the same thing, except two people had sausage instead of bacon—and they waited the longest. Some plates came with an orange slice or strawberry garnish; others didn’t. Portions of eggs were significantly different on each plate. We were told the “chef” was in training. To be clear, we were the only table there—six people total. It was honestly sad. The next day wasn’t any better for or friends, we went out, bought breakfast elsewhere, and brought it back. (A nearby French bakery gave us amazing coffee, quiche, and omelet croissants—far better food, much faster, and significantly cheaper). Service for them was still painfully slow. 15 minutes to order, a waffle took 30 minutes, followed by another five minutes waiting for syrup. Eggs still took 45 minutes, and scrambled eggs were the only option. I will say they didn’t mind that we brought our own breakfast back to the hotel. I did raise concerns about both the room condition and breakfast. While staff listened, there was no apology and no offer of compensation. I was told the hotel had been for sale since 2021, so maintenance had not been prioritized, and that new ownership had “high hopes” and was making lists of repairs. That is not a justification for charging full price now. Bottom line: this hotel is overpriced, poorly maintained, and badly managed. I would not stay here again and strongly recommend. others look elsewhere Why 2 stars instead of 1: The location was convenient, staff were polite, and they did not object to us bringing outside breakfast back to the hotel.

"Visit to St Augustine Festival of Lights"
TripAdvisor user rating 4.0 out of 5
Reviewed January 11, 2026
Stayed in this hotel for four nights in early January for the lights festival. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, had a coffee maker and a mini fridge and the showers were nice and hot. The rooms were more than accommodating saying that we were out and about most of the day. There is a little snack, stand and bar by the registration desk, which offered little snacks and drinks. There’s also a breakfast offered, but we did not partake but instead chose to go outside for breakfast. The only negative if there were to be one is that the electrical outlets under the bar used for charging telephones are not functional therefore we could not use them and the television on the wall above the bar did not have any type of cable or streaming service available so we could not watch The news nor could we watch the football game. I don’t think that it would cost much to get those items corrected, but overall our stay was wonderful. Parking in the covered garage was more than adequate and the staff was very attentive. This is the second IHG that we stay in after we stayed in New Orleans, where we also had a wonderful stay.
