"Quiet and peaceful"

Our experience overall was good. The spring break crowds were done, so the vibe was very chill every where. The check-in process did seem a bit slow, so I can only imagine the time it would take on a very busy day. The staff was always very accommodating and helpful. Our unit was very quiet, although the view was nothing special. We would go there again.

"Stay Elsewhere! Don’t spend your precious vacation time at this place"

This place has so many serious issues that people need to be aware. First, do not expect to get a good night’s sleep. Between extremely loud neighbors, paper-thin walls, and heavy machinery and lawn equipment starting at dawn and running nonstop, rest is nearly impossible. When I contacted the front desk, I was told this is “how things have been since 1962” and essentially that nothing can be done. There was zero acknowledgment that guests are paying to sleep and rest. What made this even worse was being told, almost as if it were a selling point, that the constant noise and early-morning machinery are “why the grounds look nice” and somehow benefit guests. That explanation is both dismissive and absurd. Guests should not have to sacrifice basic comfort and sleep just to justify landscaping. Second, cleanliness is unacceptable. There were insects everywhere, cockroaches, spiders, and visible webs. The carpets felt old and poorly maintained, and the overall condition of the room triggered allergies. It honestly feels like basic upkeep has been neglected for years. Maintenance is another major problem. Several appliances did not work, wifi doesn’t work and when requesting help, staff appeared overwhelmed and sometimes responded with frustration rather than assistance. It seems like they are understaffed and unable to keep up with the number of rooms. Amenities like the fitness center and pool are not properly maintained either. There are safety concerns, including lack of cleaning and no clear precautions people slipping and getting seriously hurt no real accountability from management. The most concerning part is management’s attitude. The repeated response, “this is how it’s always been since 1962”, is not acceptable. That is not an explanation; it’s an excuse. Guests should not feel stuck or dismissed when raising legitimate concerns. This place feels poorly managed, understaffed, and neglected. I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

"Hyatt Lawrence Welk — Beware the ‘Gift Free Trip? Total scam"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

BEWARE — Don’t Fall For This” I am furious and want to warn everyone. After sitting through a Hyatt Lawrence One timeshare presentation, they send you to a company called Casablanca Express for your so-called “free” trip. Don’t be fooled. They demand a $100 deposit and will ONLY accept personal check, money order, or cashier’s check — no credit cards. That means once they have your money, you have absolutely no recourse to get it back. And trust me, you will need it back, because they will not deliver. This company has a 1.6 star rating with 84% of reviewers filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau. People report being hung up on, ignored, and never seeing their money again. The “free trip” is nothing but bait. The deposit is a scam. Do NOT give these people a single dollar. Consider yourself warned.

"3-Hour Check-In and Zero Service — Extremely Disappointing Stay"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed April 09, 2026 NEW
My family and I recently stayed at Hyatt Vacation Club at The Welk, and unfortunately, it was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Before arrival, we were notified that the main lobby would be closed due to maintenance and that check-in would take place at the theater. That was understandable—but what we didn’t expect was how severely understaffed the resort would be. It took us nearly three hours just to check in. The check-in process itself was extremely inefficient and outdated. Staff were manually copying information from the computer onto paper packets, and each guest took over 20 minutes to process. With only about three employees handling check-ins and three others distributing parking permits separately, the system felt disorganized. Combining those roles could have significantly reduced wait times. Meanwhile, we had a car full of groceries that were melting while we stood in line, which added to the frustration. Service issues didn’t stop there. I attempted to call the front desk, housekeeping, and concierge multiple times—no one answered. When I walked back to the theater to request basic items like a pillow, blanket, and coffee filters, a staff member wrote everything down, but nothing was ever delivered. We stayed for three nights, and housekeeping never once came to clean the room. Overall, the resort appears to be drastically understaffed, and customer service seems to be a low priority. Based on this experience, I would not recommend purchasing a timeshare here—you’ll likely spend more time waiting than relaxing.

"Terribly mismanaged"

Terrible. Do not recommend. We are currently here and it's been a catastrophe. They are gravely understaffed. These are our issues: - Arrived at 4:30pm to check in and room wasn't available until 5:30pm - the room we had booked wasn't available, so they put us in the worst room on the property with no view - they only stock 2 towels per unit, even though we are a family of 4. This happened to us here last time and it's so frustrating- why be stingy with towels only to frustrate guests? Didn't get more towels until next day - ant invasion in kitchen - can't cook as only one eye on stovetop works. And no stove!! Feels like camping without the nature and fun - barely any dishes -toilet that clogs - horrible food options onsite - UNRESPONSIVE AND UNHELPFUL FRONT DESK STAFF SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. So much potential, but terribly mismanaged
