OK, I feel like the reviews are very mixed for this place, so here I am with the MOST RECENT review on this resort. My family and I stayed here just a few days ago and I don't have much complaints. It was a good trip. We checked in with ease, and had received great service. This resort is very quiet and comes with one sit down restaurant that is nothing extraordinary, but good for a quick bite. We had received a schedule for the entire week of things that were going on at certain times, and I found there to be a lot of options for all sorts of things there. Pickleball lessons and tournaments, trivia nights, etc. The resort has 2 nice golf courses, foot golf and disc golf. There are plenty of pools and recreational centers as well, one which includes a nice gym, which is nice. So, lots of things to do at this resort. If I'm being honest, the location isn't GREAT. It's about a 15-20 minute drive if you want to go anywhere outside of the place which isn't horrible, but sometimes just annoying. We stayed in an older 2 bedroom villa which includes 3 beds in total. The rooms with more than one bed here are very big and spacious, private, but are outdated, in my opinion. It's a more of a 1980's tuscan vibe if that's what you like. The cleanliness of the room was top notch, and I noticed there was little to no wear and tear. Room had a nice but small washer/dryer and a spacious kitchen. Overall, this spot is a good location, and has taken reviews from the past into account. I would come back.

This was one of the worst lodging experiences I’ve had. So poor I checked out early and went to another hotel. If it weren’t for the very friendly staff I would have rated 1 star. Property is very poorly maintained. Only 3 outlets in the room would hold a plug, all of the wall outlets the plug would simply fall out. The shower faucet was so loose it was difficult to turn on/off, hot water took over 3min to come out. The toilet paper holder was mounted so close that when you sit down you knock the paper off the holder. The operating hours for restaurants and shops were not practical, 11am opening time for the market - the only place to get coffee. Most of the food and beverage services closed by 8pm. Booked a golf course view room - only the parking lot had a view of the fairways, the room faced the road.

We stayed at the Welk for 2 weeks. It is a beautiful, well cared for property. Beautiful pools and many amenities. We're not golfer's, but the golf course looked excellent. If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely be back.

We are chairman level with MVC, but traded into Welks through II. So they might give you the bottom of the barrel locations when trading with II. Let's start positive; The unit is very clean as I would anticipate Marriott owned time shares to be. The Negatives: There is no oven even though it says complete kitchen. The unit is small, not much more than studio unit. The 1st floor rooms have a view to a wall! The view from second story is of the back of a water slide and has wood chairs and railings on the balcony that should have been replaced 5 years ago, they give you splinters. This is the second time in Welks, other time was in Brandon, prior to Marriott purchasing them. At that time we thought the Welks was run down, but we had thought Marriott would have brought them up to Marriott stands by now. Maybe the design of the Welks' in themselves can't be?

We exchanged in to two two-bedroom units. These units are spacious, lots of room in each room. Double sinks in each bathroom. Nice TV's. Biggest downsize was the kitchen was very poorly equipped if you wished to cook in the room
