"Disappointing Experience at a Five Star Hotel"

My family stayed at The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel in December 2025, and unfortunately, I do not believe this hotel deserves a five-star rating. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I had a particularly disappointing experience with a recent pickup order from the Fountain Lounge. I placed my order and returned to pick it up about 30 minutes later. However, upon returning to my room and checking the order, I discovered that it had not been prepared correctly. I immediately called the restaurant, and they instructed me to bring the order back for correction. When I returned, the staff attempted to fix my order, but it still did not match my original request. I noticed that the staff seemed bothered by my request for assistance. After waiting for more than 30 minutes, I inquired with a lady at the bar about how much longer it would take. Unfortunately, she appeared frustrated and did not respond to my question. I also observed her discussing my situation with a colleague, which made me feel uncomfortable. After waiting for over 45 minutes, my food was finally brought to me. While I understand that the holiday season can be busy and that mistakes can happen. I shared my concerns with the front desk and emailed the concierge, but I did not receive a response. The front desk did send me a message apologizing and promised that a food and beverage manager would reach out to me, but I never heard from anyone. I was disappointed not only by the mix-up with my order but also by the level of customer service and professionalism I experienced. Regrettably, due to this unsatisfactory service, I do not foresee myself returning to this hotel.

Because of a snowstorm, we missed our connecting and weren’t able to make it on the night we initially arrived. Somehow, our reservation got cancelled and we lost our room. However, through the kindness and expertise of the staff, Eric and Joseph, we were able to get our room back. The service is excellent and the staff are wonderful. :)

I absolutely love The Roosevelt! I’ve stayed here several times, and it never disappoints. The hotel is not only beautiful, but the staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful. Its central location makes it easy to get anywhere in the city, and Christmas time is especially magical . The decorations are stunning, and the Christmas Brunch is absolutely delicious. I can’t recommend this place enough!

The suite we stayed in was very high quality and comfortable with excellent, fast service. We attended the Christmas brunch which was full of a wide variety of foods, all of which were very high quality. The valet service was expedient and professional. Overall, every aspect of our stay was highly satisfactory.

For the hotel overall and the staff, I give it 5 stars. But I don’t recommend staying for the holidays. We used points, but if we’d have spent thousands of dollars for a room, I would have been very unhappy. The lobby and all bars and restaurants are INSANELY crowded with non guests jamming the lobby to take pictures with the lights. You can barely walk through. Bars were inaccessible with too many people. So for Christmas, stay somewhere else.
