"Service went down. Very rude and dishonest with your reservations."

We have been coming to this property for 25 years. Previous owner kept it clean and very inviting. They had coffee and breakfast on weekends included into the price. People came to relax and enjoy the nature. Since the property has been sold, it changed quite number of the owners. None of them didn't try keep it on the same level it was before. The prices almost doubled, they removed breakfast, they started to charge for everything, for BBQ usage , for gazebo usage, for staying after checkout on the beach for couple hours. Rooms are not clean anymore, if you complaint about something, their current manager Hattie Gettis will suggest you NOT to come anymore if you are not happy. One more thing, as this property on the water, mosquitos are vicious there. They supposed to spray the beach against that, it has been done by older owner regularly, never had any problems. On top of that, they are very fraudulent with your reservations. We reserved this place using one of the 3rd party back in January to make sure we have lake view rooms. We have used that 3rd party before without any issues. On Sep 5th we supposed to be checked in, after driving for 2.5 hrs from SF we were told that they don't have our reservations in their system. Two rooms were sold out to the party they have at that day. We showed them confirmations from 3rd party with paid off the rooms, Hattie Gettis told us that all complaints should go directly to that 3rd party, they don't have our reservations. We called to the 3rd party and they confirmed that reservation has been made and paid off fully back in January, 3 rd party returned our money, however, Lodge told us rudely that if we don't like it, don't come back. The lake is beautiful, the Lodge is awful now

Room was filthy. Refrigerator was leaking on floor went to management and was accused of calling the health department which honestly the health department wouldn’t be a bad idea. Employees were either preoccupied or rude. Definitely would suggest anyone thinking of staying to just avoid.

"Great place to rent from and enjoy a lake day!"

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Multiple different watercraft available for rent. The lake was very clean and even had rope swings available. There was a disruptive group that was drunk that had to get kicked out after crashing a boat and speeding past other swimmers, please be respectful of other lake attendees!

"Nice lakefront place, horrible beds"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5
Reviewed April 14, 2025
The beds were awful. Hard and if one moved on them it sounded as though they were sleeping on a plastic shower curtain. I’m sure our neighbors could hear us move! The walls are so thin. Our neighbor had a big Siberian husky and, although the dog was very well behaved, we could hear it walking, pacing , scuttling and moving furniture. The road side rooms are noisy from highway noise. The lake is pretty and the manager super friendly. The room was clean. Hot water. Been at the hotel several times in the past but with those beds this was our last visit.
