Me and my friend stayed at the Roosevelt for two nights and had an amazing time! Everyone on the staff was so helpful and accommodating, but I wanted to give a special shout out to Cody on the security team! You can just tell he truly loves this hotel and his job. He made me and my friend feel safe throughout our entire trip, and was excited to share his knowledge and the history of this amazing hotel. Cody made our already great stay into an amazing one. Thank you Cody!!

I love this historical hotel. It’s my favorite place in Hollywood. It’s in the center of all the trashy kiztch on the Blvd yet to walk through the foyer is to step into a time capsule of quiet style and service.

"Hollywood Nightmare: Skip the Roosevelt"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

Our 6-night stay with our family was, quite simply, a total nightmare. Despite booking for three, we were given a tiny room for only two people. When we immediately requested a proper bed on the first night, the front desk responded with profound indifference and no solutions. This unacceptable apathy forced a paying guest—myself—to sleep on the hard, flat floor for three long nights, an act of blatant disrespect that did not concern the staff in the slightest. The ordeal continued when a full-blown, drunken party erupted next door. The chaos started around 10:00 PM, and more than two agonizing hours of noise passed between my first complaint and the party finally ending. Security was ineffective and slow to act. While the hotel's appearance may be spectacular, the management of basic guest issues is the worst I have ever encountered. Zero interest was shown in remedying a guest sleeping on the floor, nor did they swiftly control the two-hour noise disruption. Mandating a guest sleep on the floor and tolerating such disruptive behavior is a disgrace. We are a Sadly Disappointed Family. If you are considering this hotel alongside other options, choose the others. Put beds in the room for all paying guests!

"Cockroach in Pool Cabana Room"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

The location is the only positive for this hotel. While I appreciate the upgrade to the pool cabana room, on my first night, a cockroach jumped out out of nowhere and when I called the front desk to report it, the response was, “what do you want me to do about that?” They weren’t even able to send someone to help me kill the cockroach. It was midnight and I had a big day planned for the next day so I didn’t really have much time to make a big deal about it but if you don’t want to pay for a room with a cockroach while away from home, maybe consider staying somewhere else. They also charge a destination fee which is supposed to include two complimentary waters but mine were never provided and I had to ask for them.

The day before we arrived, I chose to pay $100 for early check-in, as offered to me on my check-in form. We drove from Phoenix and I was excited I had opted for that because we arrived at 2pm- an hour before the scheduled check-in, and $100 for even just an extra hour in the room felt totally worth it. We were coming to the hotel for a 4:30 wedding on the roof, and after a 6 hour drive, I was hoping to touch up my hair, wash my face and do my makeup. Easily done in the over an hour from 3pm check-in to the 4:30 ceremony, but more time is always great! The woman that checked us in seemed annoyed that I even mentioned that I’d paid for early check-in. She cut me off when I began mentioning it, saying “we’re fully committed, and that’s based on availability.” The front desk person helping us was the one with a moon tattoo’d on her forehead. Sorry we didn’t catch her name. We were disappointed, but didn’t yell at her or anything. We sat in the lobby patiently waiting for the text she said we would receive when the room was ready. The text never came. 2:30 ticked by, 2:45.. we assumed of course it would be ready by 3. Nope! We never got a text. By 3:15, there were several front desk staff and a line of angry people. We didn’t think to pester the very busy front desk staff (because we were told we would receive a text) until 4 when we went up to check up on our room and they immediately gave us keys. What did we do wrong? Genuine question! Getting to our room even at 3 would have been great. Receiving the text we were sassily told would come would have been great. I’m in customer service myself, so we were apprehensive to take a spot in line when the staff were dealing with a lot of angry customers, but we paid enough for the room that we would have appreciated getting in at *least* at the check-in time advertised. Not the fault of any staff, but the elevators were in poor order for most of our stay so getting to and from our 8th floor room was a struggle. The valet was great, though the “text ahead” feature didn’t seem to be working or be kept up on. They seemed surprised when we mentioned we had texted ahead every time. We likely won’t be back, but the wedding was stunning, the majority of the staff were helpful and sweet, and the proximity to the walk of fame was fun.
