"Not Up to Par"

Visited for a long wknd with my family to see a show at the Dolby. First, we booked a one bedroom suite and it was quite different from the photos and description. We needed separation from our kids to do a morning meditation and not wake them (this is not a euphemism, there's some chanting involved 😁), and we didn't have the door between the rooms that was pictured. We had also asked for a room that wasn't directly on Hollywood Blvd, and ours was, and it was very loud. Also, despite making a reservation that included four people, the pullout couch was missing linens and pillows, and we were only given two towels. It was suggested before we checked in that we could text with any issues. However, my texts were for the most part ignored. When I mentioned yet more issues (noisy leak in shower, broken bathroom fan, shower door not closing), I did get a response in that they sent up an engineer without asking first, who woke up the kids. On top of all this, one of the elevators was malfunctioning and the lobby was closed that weekend which they hadn't warned us about. Hollywood Blvd is loud, ugly and very gritty. Unless you have to be there, the hotel isn't worth it.

"What a Dump"

Don’t let their Instagram page fool you. This place is a total dump. The room, the corridors, the bathroom… no room service between breakfast and dinner, and they didn’t bother to tell me about the annoying construction in the next room all afternoon. Worst place I’ve stayed in LA.

"A Hollywood trip made better at the Roosevelt."

I had a lovely stay in the ‘Original Home of the Oscars’. You can feel the history within the building, but with all the added mod-cons. The pool is a particular gem. And if your heading out. A useful valet area makes getting an uber a breeze or walk out the front door and your right on the Walk of Fame.

"Historic Charm; Ideal Location"

4.5 - classic, historic Hollywood hotel, onetime home of “Norma Jean Baker” before she became Marilyn Monroe. Steps away from the Hollywood/Highland and across the street from the fab Ovation Center & Dolby “Oscars” theater. Great bar, impeccably clean (if smallish) rooms with a rarity: FULLY stocked mini bar, although pricey. Will be back several times in 2026 for work.

"Budget accordingly!"

All of the staff were superb. The hotel is well positioned and they are proud of their history, with the iconic swimming pool and lounge area, especially. However, the bedrooms desperately need to be updated. Dark and not even enough room to fit a chair. Tiny bathrooms with inadequate storage space and toilets far too small for average-sized adults. Obese and disabled people must have nightmares! The prices were simply outrageous! $13 + tax for two teas in polystyrene beakers would have bought a three course meal where we live in Spain. My wife and I were booked in the name of our friends so I specifically asked to be emailed in order to give my feed back. This was promised but never received.
