"Very dirty rooms"

Checked in on July 4th weekend and the room was disgusting. Stains on bedsheets, couch and coffee table. Floors were gross. I will say the front desk staff was excellent and immediately processed our refund and were very sweet. As we were getting refunded there was another couple directly behind us asking for the same thing.

"STAY AWAY"

I am not picky when it comes to hotels, and I was willing to give this place a try considering its low cost. While I had hoped for a nice stay in a charming, locally-owned place, my experience was woefully disappointing. To start, the rooms were simply gross, and I say rooms because my family was given a second room after the first room was too much to tolerate. When arriving at the first room, we found the door to the room open. When walking in, there was a strong musty smell that I hoped the A/C unit might alleviate, but it didn’t. Upon shutting the door, we found toilet paper that was shoved in the peep hole, dust on the furniture, and spots of mold on the wall. After a time of sitting and choosing to ignore it all, one of my family members noticed their feet were filthy, and we all soon noticed the filth on our feet. After this, I requested a new room, but it had problems, too. While there wasn’t toilet paper in the peep hold, it also had a strong musty smell, a dirty floor, and it had stained blankets. In the morning, I spoke kindly to management about the rooms, but they were rude and dismissive of my concerns. The manager stated that stains happen and are ok so long as things feel fresh. When I informed them that their attitude from me would prompt me to write this review, they told me they did not care. Do yourself a favor, and stay away from this place.

DO NOT STAY HERE. This place looks charming online, however you will find that this is a bait and switch. For the sake of this review, I will try to keep this as brief as possible. Understandably, for the price and it being a boutique hotel, we knew that things would not be one for one. What we did not expect was the following: a foul and musty smell, dilapidated furniture and fixtures, unclean bedding and surfaces, and to top it off—a BLACK WIDOW SPIDER. The latter did not seem to concern any of the managers; they dismissed us and acted less than apathetic. They treated us as if we were testing their patience. We immediately switched hotels and they would only refund 2 out of the 3 nights booked. It was a complete fiasco

"Perfect for our trip"

My husband and I spent two nights at the Flagler Inn when we visited St. Augustine. The location was great! We were a 10 minute to the parking garage in Old St. Augustine, right across the street from a CVS (we always need to grab something on a trip) and food was close by. The room was clean and I loved that there was no carpet (less dust and dirt). It does have some signs of age but nothing that was bothersome. It was a motel with 2 chairs and a small table outside our door and both evenings we sat out there and watched some wonderful lightning from some evening storms. The breakfast wast simple but very adequate. The bed was comfortable. There was a microwave and a mini fridge. The pool is small but again fit our needs. The only two negatives, and neither were the hotel’s fault, were the patrons of the Taco Libre restaurant which was right across from our room used the parking spaces for the rooms so there were a couple times we couldn’t park right in front of our room and every morning at around 6:00 two roosters gave us a wake up call right outside our door (yes, I took pictures of these two!) But neither of these dampened our visit and I would recommend the Flagler Inn if you are planning on visiting St. Augustine.
